In the beginning...

True story: When I was little my dad brought me to Montreal. I remember this one neighborhood looked a lot like Sesame street, with the high steps up to people's stoops and the clotheslines and stuff. I was SO JAZZED about that. I was convinced for the longest time that Sesame street was in Montreal. |

I thought Sesame Street was magical. I even tried to find it one summer. But every night I would come home at dusk, replete with sadness that it had not been discovered. I now know why; because it's in Montreal ; ) By the way, there's an updated version of Manahmana. It's cute too. But truth be told I'm a girl that loves originals! |
My sister spent half of the day listening to this, so I figure I'd share it with everyone:

Affirmations!
The beauty of building up the spirit instead of tearing it down. Lessons to be learned on Sesame Street.

Here is something My sister's been listening to lately (she's been on a real SS kick lately) :cheesy:

True story-the "Manama Na" tune was originally written for a Swedish sex pseudo-documentary. It was also used by British comedian Benny Hill in his skits.
I remember how well the show dealt with the death of Mr. Hooper. |

I live in Brooklyn, NY.
Every day I walk through streets that look like the Sesame Street neighborhood, and I half-expect trash cans to produce Oscar, and for Big Bird to walk out of a bodega. I am so glad I have a magical memory of what a big city could be! |
Happy Birthday Sesame Street!!!!!
Thank you for making my childhood awesome :) |
I was in the Women's Army Corps 40 years ago.......so I, to this day, have never watched an episode of Sesame Street.
|
Just think, Sesame Street turns 45 next year! Can hardly believe it's been that long, now. I gave up television some years ago, yet I watch it infrequently when I happen to be visiting with friends, but I'd say some of the best television shows I ever watched were with my boys. I absolutely loved, Sesame Street!
Some of the most memorable skits I remember were skits involving Miss Piggy (Pigs in Space!), the Swedish Chef (I loved the Mexican Lobsters!) and of course, so many other muppet characters too; but I liked the mini-news series anchored by Kermit (News Flash!!!). *lol* Here's my favorite 'news flash' by Kermit the Frog: *Bonus video of Miss Piggy* |
My favoritest thing on Sesame Street was what I NOW know was called the Twiddlebugs lol I remembered it as Deedlebugs...
