It's that time again....
I woke with this song in my mind, and then the carillon bells at the church down the street started playing it for the 11am hour.
This is a heavy version with organ and carillon... and choral version is usually much more pleasant on the ears. |
Surprise, it's Miley Cyrus

Frosty
I was singing this last night, and my son asked who sang it. I said, I though it was Burl Ives. My son's response - well, why don't we just leave him to it.

Love, love this one from Mariah! It's on my year-round playlist!
The video is a little lame but it is the song that I love. Trivia: those first few notes at the beginning of the song are from an instrument called a Glockenspiel. :) |
Last Christmas by Wham!
This song reminds me of when my oldest was a teenager. She would play this song and dance around her room. I just loved her joy. My long-term ex took her to see Wham! in LA, in person (Wham!: George Michael and Andrew Ridgely) at a club full of screaming teenage girls in the 1980's. She said her ears rang for days from the screaming! |

i'm not one for traditional holiday music - i think i burned out on it at about age fifteen and started listening to more modern or alternative choices that held meaning for me and in that, i created new traditions and memories from those that i grew up listening to, raised my own child with or just loved because they were simply beautiful of all the beautiful music i surrounded my child with and to this day he has a very refined ear with an impeccable taste in music, this .... is his favorite holiday song LoL hohoho |
A few non-traditional favorites...
