The Season of Giving
What better way to celebrate the season of giving than to donate your time or money to those who might be less fortunate than you?
http://www.timeout.com/newyork/blog/...es-in-new-york One of my favorite organizations is God's Love We Deliver. I would love and appreciate it if you would consider putting a little something extra in their Christmas stocking or Hanukkah gelt or whatever works for you. Hi, I'm reading this Wednesday, September 9 at 6:00 p.m. in the cabaret room at Cornelia Street Cafe on Cornelia Street between Bleecker and W. 4th in the West Village with Mervyn Taylor, Gerry LaFemina and Alexandra Butler.
There's a $9 cover, which gets you a free beer or wine (or something non-alcoholic). It's the (F/A/C/B/D) train to W. 4th or (a bit further), the (1) to Christopher. I'll have copies of my new book, Heirloom Bulldog, winner of the 2014 Bright Hill Press chapbook contest, and I'll sell them at the author price, $5.00 (the press and Small Press Distribution sells them for $10). The poems focus on the struggles between so-called "invasive" species and other animals that have learned to thrive in an environment made toxic by humans. Also I'll read from my collection forthcoming from Spuyten Duyvil Press in 2016, Sober Cooking. Not only that, you'll learn my real name! ;) and I'll learn yours. |
