I really like the Nautica "competition" in the yellow bottle. I cringe at the name, but the smell is great. I know it might be "common" but honestly I don't spend enough time around people wearing cologne to know what's what.

MsTinkerbelly 02-02-2013 02:03 AM

Less is more...I've said before I'm sure.

In fact don't wear any and I'll be a happy woman.

sis 02-02-2013 06:00 AM

I have to agree with less is more .... even then, if my nose starts to tickle, I'll probably be sneezing soon after (allergies). Having said that, though it's been awhile, I do like the scent of cologne on my my date/partner.

I bought some david yurman for a close friend. (just friends) It smells great.

Cole610 08-11-2014 07:18 PM

Back in the day CK Obsession for men. Currently, Swiss Army Classic, Diesel, AXE
Dark Temptations shower gel and pit stick.
After reading all these great posts I think Im going to check out, Acqua DiGio, Cool Water, Kenneth Cole Black and D&G

JDeere 08-11-2014 07:37 PM

CK Euphoria Intense, Cool Water or Any of the Stetson's but I am just partial!

Okiebug61 08-11-2014 07:47 PM

I wear only essential oils that are 100% natural. Our skin is a sponge and all manufactured fragrances have ingredients that can cause side effects.

Peace

Red-Dragon 08-11-2014 08:51 PM

I'm a
http://media2.onsugar.com/files/2010...anel-No.-5.jpg femme myself. Love how versatile and sweet it is and it really does go with everything. I always get compliments on how I smell so I guess it must work for me. :eyebat:

On a butch, I'm not terribly picky as long as they're:
a) clean
b) don't smell like my grandfather (Old Spice... do I have to say it?)
c) aren't doused in Axe like a teenage boy

That being said, my favourite cologne scent of all time has to be Armani Mania for Men:
http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/73...3b56ec6beb.jpg
:cheer:
If there is one scent guaranteed to knock me off my feet, this is the one. I can always pick it out in a crowd and it makes my knees weak. It's kind of dark and musky, with an urban night time feel to it, but elegant and strong (in a good way). It's described on [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Mania-Giorgio-Armani-Toilette-Ounces/dp/B000C1UF3Y/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top"]Amazon[/ame] as "cedar, mandarin and amber, a mossy, masculine scent" and I'd have to agree.

I've recommended it to a number of friends, both men and butch, and they've all had success with it (however you define that...). Just sayin'. :p

I think if I saw even just an average looking butch (not that you aren't all handsome... :) ) walking down the street and caught a whiff of this when she walked by... said butch would have to beat me off with a bat. It's just... intoxicating. :heartbeat: Highly recommended!
:thud:

[This concludes the end of my PSA for the butches on the Planet. ;)]

Cole610 08-17-2014 07:35 PM

I just picked up Jean Paul Gaultier "Le Male"
I love it, no feed back from anyone else yet . lol
It smells a little musky/vanilla and flowers. I would say its more unisex than just
for guys

CowboyInFlorida 08-17-2014 08:38 PM

I am very fond of the scent of zest soap... I don't require more

randrum 01-27-2015 07:51 AM

My "go-to" cologne is usually Acqua di Parma Essenza. But I've had a tough time finding it lately. So I switched to Bvlgari Pour Homme. It's nice, but I don't get as many comments on the scent as I did with the Essenza.

Shystonefem 01-27-2015 07:58 AM

I do not, normally, notice cologne unless it stinks.... BUT, a few weeks ago there was a cologne I loved souch, I asked the guy what it was... lol... Never did that before but I was thinking about presents for my sons. Armani...

Armani Mania!!! I love it. I think I swooned the first time I smelled it. :)

Daktari 01-27-2015 08:23 AM

My cheapy go-to for the last decade has been Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male. (came out in '95).
Because it reminded ex-mrs.d of her ex fella I stopped using it for a wee while and then because she said Dior Homme smelled spectacular on me that's what I changed over to. I always get 'you smell good' comments when wearing it. It's not half as common as JPG. Not surprising, it's twice the price too.

Now I'm back to JPG for daily squirts and Dior Homme for special squirts.

I can't smell, am totally anosmic, so I wear this stuff for other people and for the knowledge that I smell delicious.
I'm just as happy to not wear smelly stuff, I'm told I have a really good personal smell anyway...the universe making up for me not having a sense of smell mebbe?

I have to admit, it is the best cologne

Cailin 01-27-2015 10:32 AM

i like some weird smells...

i like drakkar noir, and yes, old spice...

but one that usually turns my head is polo sport type of scents. i can't handle anything too sweet or strong.

currently i have my significant other wear Kenneth Cole's "black"

for me, i'm more of a "halloween" person. i haven't found another perfume that i've stuck with.

Femmadian 01-27-2015 11:47 AM

Three cheers for Mania!

I hope the butchies looking for a new scent to try are taking notes. :p

I've been informed, on numerous occasions, that 'smellies' smell different on each person due to their personal chemical thang and that something which smells good on one can smell rank on another. Is this not true?

PatrickIver 01-28-2015 10:50 AM

I am a fan of anything (pretty much) Armani.

I currently wear Armani Code or Aqua di Gio. But, have switched to others in the Armani area. I like something that is earthy with a citrus smell. Kind of an odd mix, so it takes me a bit to settle on something that mixes good with my body chemistry.

I have also used D&G - The One all the way down to Joe Boxer. Just depends in the end on how it mixes with my skin.

I love JPG Le Male.

I'm not very fond of many scents but the ones I like, I really like. I especially like it if it's done very lightly, so that I only smell it if they lean in to me to talk, or if they hug me. That's lovely. And that would be the middle and base notes because the top notes fade in 15 minutes.

And it is very true that personal scent completely affects the cologne. What smells great on one person, will not be such a good match on another.

I wish I could smell 'em...but even more I wish I could smell unadulterated girl!

I've been told that JPG LM lasts well and it's sillage is moderate on me....sillage is the 'wake' of scent that trails behind you. The Dior Homme however had great lasting power on my skin and will still be smelling really good the next day, it's sillage is also moderate, I'm told.

Smells really aren't that important to me, never having smelled anything, but I know they are to other people so I'm happy to oblige...when I can be bothered ;)

So...how is food for you, if your ability to smell is hampered?

I can never settle on a scent because I inevitably end up disliking the way it smells on me after awhile – maybe the result of some weird alchemy that happens on my skin. lol Interestingly, it seems to happen less with things that aren't alcohol-based, or maybe that's just my imagination.

I had a friend who used to insist everyone needs a signature scent. WHY? She was so focused on creating a "persona" that she almost took a marketing-style approach to it. I think she thought of herself as a brand.

Who the fuck are you to judge anyone, amature?.....Try to get on the level first, tourist.

Daktari 01-28-2015 03:50 PM

Anosmia and food...

Food is always heavily seasoned and chilli sauced up. Garlic is lost on me generally. My sense of taste is in broad strokes rather than fine details. I'm grateful to have even an impaired sense of taste.
I was born anosmic

JDeere 01-28-2015 04:15 PM

I like the new Stetson Caliber cologne. I have always liked the Stetson line.

randrum 01-28-2015 04:19 PM

There have been so many recommendations for Armani Mania and JPG Le Male. So I took the hint and ordered 3 ml samples of both online. I figured I'd see what all the fuss is about. ;)

Completely agreed!

Degotoga 01-28-2015 06:08 PM

When an occasion calls for it, I either wear Armani Code, Armani Mania, or CK Obsession.

Any other time I usually smell like AXE Anarchy body wash.

SpaceCowboy 03-07-2015 08:58 PM

Dolce and Gabana's Light Blue...is awesome, my new favorite. I tend to wear a lighter scent in the summer...and deep rich scents in the winter..Gucci and Tokyo Milk Dark is awesome.

I'm kind of stuck on Old Spice myself. My Daddy (God rest his soul) used it and as a young kid i'd wear it to school and drive the ol' ladies crazy.

I also like the smell of splash on Brut 33.

Have a close connection to Old Spice, my father. Dig Armani, but these

My girl really likes the CK Euphoria Intense cologne I use, but she also likes the Stetson one.

I found D and G The One to be a good scent too but my dad wears it and I don't particularly want to use the same thing he does. LOL.

Liz Claiborne Mambo cologne, an earthy-spice-sweet scent. It's hard to find though, but a good substitute is Curve Crush.
