Now, start picking out you outfit. Remember what Kobi taught us. To be a BOSOX fan, you have to wear your rally shirt and hat inside out.

Do we have to wear FUR or anything strange to be a TIGER fan? Any team in the NL except the BREWERS. I can not stomache the arrogance. The way the jumped up and down on the bag for a single, rubbing the sucko's noses into how baddly we were. (WE KNEW OK!) And, from watching UTUBES, we are not the only team they did it to. One way to stop that is to beat them.

Yeah- poop on the Brewers!!

I will root for the BoSox if they are in the playoffs as my AL team. I just think the Tigers have played great ball.

YES- Pirates beat the Dbacks!!! And come back with a vengence next year... well, 'cept when they play the Giants.....

UGH... the Cards must be stopped! And I like their manager a lot- LaRosa is a good guy- he was such a positive support to his daughter during her date rape case. Plus he is an animal rights activist.

We won last night- had good offense for Vogelsong- I love him! His story is great and I am so happy to see him where he is.

Win, Giants, WIN!! Go freaks! "The Beard" is back, too!

I had an opportunity to watch the Rays play over the week end....they were exciting. As I said, and will say again, no matter who get in...this is going to be good base ball.

My team is out of it, so I'll be able to enjoy the games. They'll all be good games to me. No Nerf bricks getting thrown at the TV lol.

The BoSox meltdown continues. The Yankees helped us to maintain a 2.5 game lead in the wild card by spanking the Rays. But, the Angels are 2.5 games out as well now. I dont know where the heck the Angels came from.

We have 6 games left and basically need to win 5 out of the 6. Oy. We finish on the road with 3 in Yankee Stadium - I suspect this will not be pretty. And 3 in Baltimore who just cleaned the floor with us.

It is discouraging to see them have leads only to blow them late in the game. The hitting cant keep pace with the pathetic excuse of a pitching staff. Even the veterans are doing sucky now. Theo Epstein is going to have a lot to answer to for not getting us some quality replacement pitching down the stretch. Francona has been forced to piece together a rotation of youngins from triple AAA and reliever veterans who have been fading the entire second half of the season. Bard, once tried and true, has become a huge liability.

I think we have won 6 games in September and given away about 18. Sigh. Even if we manage to find ourselves in the playoffs, I dont think we have the ability to last longer than the first round.

I am pleased for the Tigers tho. What a pesky team they have become. Aside from Victor Martinez, is there anyone on that team that is old enough to shave? It would be great to see them in the World Series. I will be rooting for them.

I know, I have bee trying to figure out how the Angels got where they are. UGH... I kow, since I am a Califorian, born and raised, I should be rootig for the Angels in the AL. But.... I am a NORTHERN CALIFORNIAN!!

Haven't followed the Angels since way back when they had disabled (born without one hand fully formed) starting pitcher- Jim Abbott

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Abbott

I have always just liked the BoSox in the AL. Hey, Kobe, the Giats were figured way out of eve the wild card just a couple of weeks ago. Ya' nevah' know!! But, yes, they (Re Sox) need to win the rest of their games. I hope today they start to just win!!

Nervous about tonight's SF v. LAD game... the Dodger-Giats long time rivalry usually brings ooommph to both teams. Then we are off to AZ v. the Dbacks. That is going to be where our story begins or ends. Whatever- my scrappers have given me a fun last week of "torture." Actually, since AZ is a team o one cares about and never sees as competitive, if they win it all and the Giants don't get in the playoffs, it will be OK. I think AZ can give a good battle for the NL.

Yellow- is there a AZ v PIT game today?? If yes- damn it, Pirates, beat them!!! Ad SL has got to start losing!!!

AtLast 09-23-2011 01:07 AM

I want to scream!! Bumgarner did not pitch well tonight- which is so not like him!! But the Cards lost.....

6 games left.... but I see the Braves taking the wild card birth... but, but, but.....

Anyone else eating a lot of sunflower seeds lately?

The Suck'os were off Thursday, but they gifted you with another loss or in your case a win for AZ on Wed. It is showing the giants 4 out of the wild card race this morning and the Bo sox in with tampa bay 2 hames behind....

SuckO's come home for the final home stand to play the Reds. Which can help the cards if the reds loose.

Also University of Pittsburgh Vs Notre Dame at home Saturday. Wild weekend here!

macele 09-23-2011 04:09 AM

the giants have had like 40 million solo homeruns this year.
that tells alot. losing posey was a big blow.
sandoval and beltran, great bats. they need folks to get
on base.

wildcard:

tonights games/series ...

red sox - vs ny yankees lester/garcia
rays - (2 games back) vs bluejays price/morrow
angels - (3 games back) vs a's weaver/gonzalez

braves - vs nationals hudson/strasburg
cardinals - (2) vs cubs carpenter/dempster
giants - (4) vs diamondbacks cain/saunders

the rays and cardinals might just tie it all up this weekend.
or take it over. both of these teams are better than the red sox
and braves, in my opinion.

atlast, do you eat one sunflower seed at a time,
or a hand full in the mouth and a cup? lol

Macele, did the sunflower seeds replace the smokeless tobacco?

The Pirates do a anti *Chew* PSA (public service announcement) on the scoreboard during pregame warm ups. I know years ago, they banned smoking in the dug outs.

I always giggle when I see my beloved Jim Leyland hiding in a dug out getting in a few drags. I also no longer see the mail pouch wad in the cheek...They still spit constantly (maybe they're using bandits). Was/has smokeless tobacco been banned from on field?

macele 09-23-2011 05:49 AM

i don't know how they chew/dip, ... makes me sick to smell of it lol.

ryan ludwick, josh hamilton, coach bruce bochy ... to name of a few. unless they've quit here recently.

you know tony gwynn says tobacco caused his cancer.

some players say it helps them focus ... a stimulant.

Dominique 09-23-2011 02:14 PM

There has been a light and steady rain since around noon. I bet unless there is lightning, no games will be rain delayed. We have 3 homes games
with the reds and that wraps up the season at home.

Pitt and Notre Dame and the Pirates tomorrow. The stadiums are side by side. Steve MIller band is the grand finale.

YES- the Giants have left a kazillion on base and also don't get runners on! Makes me crazy!! I agree that the few guys we have that are power hitters usually knock in just themselves. ARGH!! I hope they work to get this fixed next year.

Posey and Freddie Sanchez, plus Sherholtz being out has really messed us up- even with getting Beltrans and Keppinger. Speaking of Keppinger- he has not done much for us at all, I think. Would not care if he isn't in a SF uni next year. I think both Crawford & Belt will become more consistent hitters and getting on base as they play- I see talent with them. But they both are just not there now. Although, Belt has done some good stuff. Players like Huff and Ross have been stranded so much. And I wish Sandoval would not be so into home run hitting- just get on or move a base runner!!

So frustrating- damn frustrating! I want them in the play offs, but what you are talking about is what would most likely take them out in the first round.

LOL- I eat them (sunflower seeds) one at a time. So weird, I don't eat them very often, but find I am doing so a lot right now! Hey, when the hell did Frito Lay become the official MLB seeds!!

I don't know if I am looking foreward to the start of our last games with AZ- it could be ugly.... and I honestly think our entire bullpen is tired.

WOW, have to say Kemp of the Dodgers smacked the hell out of us during our series. That guy is something. I kind of liked seeing old Tommy Lasorda in the dugout for his 84th BD last night. Crazy old codger!!

lol...plenty of "oldtimers" on the Tigers -- Magglio Ordonez, Carlos Guillen (injured), Brad Penny (probably won't make the playoff roster because, well, he sucks).

I'm a lifelong Tigers fan. Can't wait for the playoffs!

Hack 09-23-2011 02:51 PM

And, mark my words....Kansas City Royals will be in the playoffs within the next three years. Their rookies and prospects are phenomenal.

foxyshaman 09-23-2011 04:15 PM

Thank you to my hard core baseball fans!!! I love reading your updates, thoughts, frustrations and mental musings regarding tobacco/chewing/smoking/seeds/pitchers/hitters. It makes me feel like I too have watched the games!!! Oh and Love Josh Hamilton, he reminds me of my favortist nephew... (I know no favorites in family, but...)

I am going to get a game in on Sunday... and if I am REALLY REALLY lucky, maybe two... hold me back I am getting dangerous!!!

:canadian:

Tonights BoSox-Yanks game has been postponed due to weather. They will play a day-night doubleheader on Sunday instead.

Gotta love the drama eh? LOL.

AtLast 09-23-2011 05:46 PM

I'm happy with the teams that are in so far- I am looking foreward to Detroit's play off games. Even if my scappers don't make it. I think AZ might give them some trouble if they end up doing battle for the NL WS contender, however. Have to see. The play offs can hold many suprises!! Last year there was a lot of folks that didn't believe my freaks would take it all.

Geez, the AL is full of some battles!! Hope I catch an AL game this weekend- BoSox.

OK, SF, tonight is critcal.... math/time is not on your side. Go freaks, GO!!

JAGG 09-23-2011 09:12 PM

Watched the Yankees win their division. I would love to see the Phillies and the Yankees in the world series!!! :praying:

I LOVE day/ night double headers.....18 innings of quality baseball.....UUUGH! However, I am quite sure they will make everyone leave and a whole new spin of the turn stiles for the second game (revenue, ya know)......Sunday is my final game this year

OK ATlast we beat the Reds in the bottom of the ninth.....you need that for movement with the cards...all of the stacked decked has to fall.

Note to BH. I was thinking of you tonight. The rain stopped at 5 P.m. and the game went, it was a perfect night for a great game of base ball. Wished you were here. Lots of red shirts here....
