2016 Obama's America: love him, hate him, you don't know him.

Based on the work of Dinesh D'Souza, 2016: Obama's America is the highest-grossing conservatively-slanted documentary of all time. It lays out what D'Souza believes Obama would do in a second term as President of the United States. He bases his conclusions on Obama's father's anti-colonialism and on Obama's purported psychological desire to fulfill his father's dream of diminishing the power of Western imperial states. The film is arresting in its presentation and sobering in its conclusions.

Odd movie. Might be good if you like conspiracy type documentaries. Feels quite racist as well.

Firelight

Cuba Gooding, Jr.

The incarcerated girls and young women come from troubled - often violent -backgrounds. "They come in so broken...These are girls who've been abused and objectified their whole lives." The film illustrates how many of the young women achieve salvation through joining an elite band of volunteers tasked with battling forest fires, building hiking trails in remote areas and assisting during natural disasters.

Very touching.

Breaking Dawn 2

My girl was looking foward to seeing it so I opted for the Drive In version

I laughed throughout the movie as she glanced over at me wondering why lol

Talon 12-13-2012 11:55 AM

One of my all-time favorite films w/one of my all-time favorite actors..

"The Best Exotic Marigold Motel"
- loved it!!!

QueenofSmirks 12-14-2012 07:58 AM

Killing Them Softly (Brad Pitt). It was HORRIBLE. Don't waste your time or money! ugh! It made my Top 20 Worst Movies I've Had the Displeasure of Watching list.

ArtistLady 12-14-2012 08:52 AM

I see a new movie almost every week. Last week it was Flight which turned out to be pretty good. :)

Happy_Go_Lucky 12-14-2012 09:15 AM

"Flight"

I was a tad disappointed, really hoped it was a "Manchurian Candidate" type movie, but as it turns out AA may as well sponsored the film.

Before that, went to see the new 007. When I was a younger butch and thought I could be anything or anyone.....I was Bond, James Bond. What is not to like? he gets all the hot girls, plenty of money, travels, wins in poker.

We watched Alex Cross. Great movie! .. and a tear jerker warning.

We found a pretty cool place to go catch a flick complete with 2 tickets a small popcorn and a small soda for under 9.00. Our fav place now for sure and we'll be going there quite often!

Tony 12-14-2012 11:20 AM

Bridesmaids.
We, Canela & myself, watched together via the phone. I was concerned it was gonna be a chick flick. She said it wasnt & that I'd love it. She was right, as she usually is. It was hysterical!

Novelafemme 12-14-2012 11:32 AM

I've been laid up in bed recovering and for a day or so (maybe 3) I was on a horror flick rampage.

And let me tell you....I watched some BAAAAAAAAD films.

The worst was Human Centipede II. I actually had to turn it off. Worst. Movie. Ever.

I did watch a couple of good ones: Chained and Mum and Dad were both pretty good.

For years I couldn't watch scary movies, so it was kind of a fun marathon!

"Smila's Sense Of Snow" w/ Julia Ormond...It's one of my favorite films.

laruss 12-17-2012 10:50 AM

I saw the Hobbit yesterday. It was enjoyable, but I was very disappointed that they ended it where they did.

ruffryder 12-17-2012 11:18 AM

Snow White and the Huntsman - 3 stars. I would probably get it to watch on blu ray and surround sound.

Sparkle - Got it because it was Whitney's last appearance and I ended up not following the story line or even really watching it. :(

Kobi 12-17-2012 02:31 PM

Men In Black 3 - I love these movies.

Fatale 12-17-2012 02:59 PM

Moonrise Kingdom. It is do deliciously weird and quirky. It is visually strange and perfect. I think I know some of those folks.

Kobi 12-18-2012 07:04 PM

The Campaign

Will Ferrell. I dont care for Ferrell but this was weird, bizarre, and quite funny in an odd kind of way.

Luv 12-20-2012 12:38 PM

Finally got around to watching Prometheus. LOVED LOVED LOVED IT.
I'm a huge fan of the Alien saga, and this movie explains its origins.
At the very end I couldn't help but let out a huge "COOOOOOOL".
Now I'm in the mood for an Alien marathon.

Snow White and the Huntsman. We enjoyed it.

The Avengers. Love this stuff. I end up singing Iron Man for days afterwards.

I still have MIB3 to watch - saving it for Mare's next day off.

We watched The Iron Lady, with Meryl Streep...very good movie! :) It always amazes me the way that woman can just immerse herself in a role. You forget its Meryl Streep and you just see Margaret Thatcher...who is ALSO an amazing woman.... I never knew...

Thanks to my honey for broadening my mind :)

Cloud Atlas

"Synopsis:

From acclaimed filmmakers Lana Wachowski, Tom Tykwer, and Andy Wachowski, the powerful and inspiring epic drama “Cloud Atlas” explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future.

Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero, and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future."

I enjoyed Cloud Atlas and a month later, I am still thinking about it. I think it is a brilliant film.

Seeking a friend for the end of the world.

Steve Carell, Keira Knightly, Martin Sheen

Comedy that explores the crazy things people do when humanitys last days are near.

Weird, interesting, sweet, exceptional soundtrack.

hated it

DJango unchained

Lots of violence and really disturbing images
I have yet to get out of my head.
If you like hearing the n word 100+ times mixed in with humor
at really odd times you might like it.
If it doesnt bother you to hear white people laughing at the n word
with ease it might be your kind of movie.

Definately not geared for a thinking audience.
I want my money back.

I wish I had researched it and chosen better.
Spike Lee's thoughts on it
