* Unsubscribing from a ton of marketing emails over the last several days. Project "minimize the digital clutter" is in full swing!
* The look on people's face when they walk in my office and see the very dainty teacup full of steaming tea and the word "CUNT" emblazoned in hot pink letters across the front. Yes, I'm super professional. * Getting a text from my postal service that says "Your package was delivered" when said package contains 32gb of memory and an APC backup (insert love-eyes here!) * Making my end of the month weight-loss goal when there are 13 days left in the month. Activate maintenance mode! * Operating as a grown-ass woman and handling my business with finesse. |
My "ship" was listing terribly, so I have righted the course, so to speak! Sailing clearly now.
My own space now...with ALL the bathroom & shower to MYSELF. Being back in the sunshine, palm trees, and able to see the dolphins! Having courage to break away & start to love myself again. Being brave enough to move myself 800 miles solo. |

5 Incredible Things
* Having my best girlfriend of 25 years here today and just laughing and talking and doing what we do best.
* Having said best girlfriend do her best "eyerolling voice" and saying, "Two words, Angiegirl: 'BAR FLY' " :superfunny: * Chai tea and sympathy * That smell that permeates your house when you wash 2 loads of clothes and they come out of the dryer smelling all fresh and warm * Being 41 and feeling sexier and more at home in myself every single day |
Having my very own space again. ( I KNOW this is a given for most) BUT having just a small space in a fridge, and sharing a bathroom.....was.the.pits. Making new friends who are just amazing. But then, I have always been a very social being & crave that. I make friends easily everywhere I go. I never meet a stranger.... Being able to have MY kitchen space...MY kitchen gadgets....MY spices..and making MY kind fo food again..pure fuckin' heaven! Getting my KS bed Monday out of storage. I have missed you KS....yes I have. Getting my license for this state, registering my car, and having insurance premiums higher than a Face Lift...lol..NOT. |
5 Amazing Things
* Having my best girlfriend alllllll to myself for the next week! There will be SO MUCH FOOD and so many hours of gabbing
* Having a "good hand day" where my carpal tunnel isn't hurting as much as usual which will allow me to install some micro braids into her hair so that she can feel more fabulous * Rain - Yes, it's a good thing because it's a great excuse to make a giant pot of soup, burn some candles, and listen to Jill Scott all day while C chatters randomly and digs through old photos * Co-opting one of JD's Atlanta friends for my own and discovering that we have SO much in common. She's a Femme and super witchy and so fucking interesting. I just love her vibe and am grateful that we are developing our own friendship and relishing in some delicious Femme space together * Grateful for this space, The Planet. It's almost 9 years old and now officially the oldest Butch-Femme space on the net. I'm proud of that. I'm proud of the people who keep showing up year after year to post or offer help or volunteer or just be. I'm grateful for all of the lessons learned, for all of the people I've met, and for the little corner of the net where I still bump into people I've known online and real-time for almost 20 years now. That's good stuff. <3 |

5 Badass Things
* My trusty oldAF iPod 5th generation that is STILL trucking along after 10 years! It's only 120gb but super handy for listening to audiobooks while on road trips.
(Psssstt... I just loaded the audio version of "Mean Little Deaf Queer" for my upcoming road trip) * My very reliable and very paid-off car. She's a big, black, boxy Chrysler 300 and it's like driving a couch around because she's so comfy. * Finding a note that C left for me a few days before she passed. It only says, "I love you, sis. Kiss my ass." I broke out into giggling tears when I found it because we were always trading licks like that and I am grateful to have a stack of little notes from her to remember. * Security in all forms. * Being surrounded by badass love. |
what a day!

cinco
1. Spending the very early morning hours in my garden with a soft breeze and dew on the grass.
2. The beautiful cobalt blue glass bowl spilling over with masses of gardenias. The room smells divine. 3. Lunch at my favorite Indian restaurant. 4. The sleek, fresh feeling of walking out of the stylist shop after my hair appointment. 5. Having my car not start while downtown *but* having AAA and in less than 40 minutes I was back on my way with a new battery. (<---glass 1/2 full thinking. Could have been worse as it wasn't raining, it was daytime, I had no-where to be and a battery is a cheap fix so I'm counting this as a good thing) 6. Coming home to find my new handbag had arrived. Love it! 7. About to go pick up a sushi order before the thunderstorms arrive. The air is already starting to cool and I hear the distant rumble. Hmm, more than 5 but it's hard to stop when you feel so blessed. Katniss~~(and I didn't even mention lemon creme ice cream for dessert with fresh blueberries) |
* a glass of pinot gris at sundown, watching the sun sink into the ocean.
* the quietness late at night * a good book to read (Ovid) * warm blankets * friends (near and far) :moonstars: |

The crunchy curlicue of meringue on my low carb "forgotten cookies"
The bracing goodness of a cup of tea in the afternoon That it's finally cool enough to start gently ordering the jungle of my backyard. The amazing adaptability of our bodies and their ability to heal 2nd spring and the many, many black and tiger swallowtail butterflies visiting my flowers |
Climbing trees higher than your neighbor could.
Riding a trail through your neighbor's yard Trading your figure skates for hockey ones. Listening to a lone sax player in the quiet of the French Quarter at 3am on a hot summer night Memories never again to be experienced but alas wonderful. |
The final page in a book series.
Watching the movie screen go dark in the arms of the one you love. The laughter between friends no matter how long you've been apart. The snuggles from your children early in the morning. A happy dog grinning up at you as you break off a piece of burger for then |

Walking in the snow
A good cup of coffee Seeing her passion while she works Time for my art Good "good for me" foods |
1) The sound of a lawn mower in the neighborhood always helps me to fall asleep. Now that I've found a video that features 11+ hours of white noise lawn mower sounds, I can doze off to sleep easily.
2) Don Lemmon (CNN). I've been watching his news coverage lately. 3) My new lunch bag: It keeps things hot or it keeps things super cold. I love it. 4) Getting my car detailed, washed and waxed. She dazzles in the sunshine, just like the steering wheel cover dazzles. I love it when my car is clean and pretty and sparkly. 5) Moisturizing my skin, nightly. I have not been good at doing this, over my lifetime, but I'm doing it nightly now, and my skin glows when I do this every night. 6) Talking to my cousin today and sharing about our lives. We don't always get to talk much with each other, since she lives out on the east coast, so it was great to get to spend time with her on the phone today. 7) Clean clothes, clean bed sheets and blankets, and having a warm bed to sleep on every night, that is so very comfortable. It's nice to have a clean home and clean clothes and a way to get clean (a long hot shower or a delicious hot bubble bath). |
1. Had some photos printed, so they can get framed and shared.
2. Sent off something I sold on Etsy. 3. Curling up with a soft pink blanket and a book. 4. Cinnamon spice hot tea. 5. It's a zucchini kind of day, if in a soup or in bread😉 |
