One of my best friends and her daughter came over today... Her daughter is competing in the Miss Outstanding Teen contest here this year... She CAN NOT walk in heels... so I got to give lessons... it certainly made me smile... it still is as a matter of fact.

Breakfast for my daughter and Bf....got to be the sexy mexy mama today and love them with food! Eggs, bacon, papas, refried beans, tortillas, salsa and coffee or juice....lol we're all roly-poly now!

My Phoenix connection is not taking no for an answer....may get out there for Christmas with my family after all!

My heart was heavy as I drove by an elementary school during drop-off time this morning......and as I rounded the corner, I saw a glorious rainbow......a complete one from one end to the other.

I don't know if a smile crossed my face, but I felt one in my heart.

Remembering I make the choice to make it better...

Spending time with my oldest daughter on her 19th birthday :bunchflowers:

We went to the Quabbin Reservoir where the friendly chickadees will eat out of your hand. We brought seed that Teddy was nice enough to get for us. :) She got many chickadees to alight on her hand to take birdseed right from her palm. And she also got a nuthatch AND a very shy titmouse to come to her also! My baby is the bird whisperer apparently. Which doesn't surprise me in the LEAST since she has had a way with horses since she was very small and children love her too :)

Knowing that my internship site trusts me to thoroughly audit the client charts to catch mistakes before the state does. I must admit my forte is the fine details and being meticulous about my work. Considering there is a lot of paperwork, I didn't do too badly today. I got through 12 charts.

A soft fluttering feeling following me around today.

My job today that required a 2 hour commute round trip, but only required about 45 minutes of interpreting, cancelled! Yaya! (It's still billable)

Wahoooooo.

my new Northface jacket arrived today. in the right size :)

I just bought myself new boots, really cute ones, and a new purse. I was told I needed boots for here in the frozen North, she didn't say what kind of boots. She might not be too impressed when she sees them, but I am really happy with them.

We had to get up really early to get to my doctor's appointment, but we found out it WON'T take forever for my surgery to be scheduled :)

Then we had the rest of the day together. Had a nice lunch while we were in the city.

Even managed to get some stuff done around the house (ie the dump and recycling are DONE diddly and the hard to change ceiling fan bulb is replaced!)

Got heaps (5) more cards in the mail today! :)

Watched a movie we have been long desiring to see (The Iron Lady)

Now fixin' to go get some ice cream and my Honey Bunches of Oats with pecans that I loveeee.

Then watching one of the many football games we didn't get to watch on Sunday!

I love our weekends... <3

Alot made me smile today. A customer buying me, a surprise lunch, and leaving me her phone number with the restaurant. An old lady that cannot afford compression stockings and how
i will take her to lunch later on. Beautiful, day.

If so, I smiled all day.
I think most people in my profession have perfected a fake smile. I can't quite get the hang of it.

What made me smile...

So this older woman rings the bell at the shelter door and I walk down the hall to answer it. There's a glass window on the door and as I am nearing the door her face starts to light up with the sweetest, warmest smile I have seen from a stranger in a long time.

Me: Hi. May I help you?
Lady: (extends an envelope with money to me) This is for the shelter.
Me: (receives said envelope with only the name of the shelter on the front) Thank you.
Lady: (smiling even bigger, as if this was even possible) You are welcome.
Me: (looking eye to eye) Would you like a receipt?
Lady: (voice softens) Oh heavens no. That won't be necessary. Seeing the gratitude in your eyes is receipt enough.
Me: (smiling as big as hers) Thank you so much and Merry Christmas!
Lady: (still looking me in the eyes) Merry Christmas to you too, Dear!

Wow!! Just wow....

I never saw the amount donated but I'm guessing rather generous. :praying:
