Nurturing artistic development, irrespective of what form of the endeavor (e.g. visual, performance, musical, etc.) helps a society to maintain it's civility and can calm even the most difficult personalities.

Particularly of interest since we are an aging society and I know, unfortunately, first hand, the power of Music Therapy---it's not only used for the elderly, but, for those who suffer serious illness.

Reducing anyone's difficulties is an important practice, I, however, believe in a variety of therapies and not all of them subscribe to Western medical philosophy and/or pharmaceuticals.
