Sorry, I saw the word "donation" (when I gave to the basket & when asked about buying tickets), and I thought there was a charity or something it was benefiting.

I asked in the :| thread for folks to donate items so we could have a :| themed basket. I'm not sure what other word I should of used weatherboi and I could of done a :| basket theme alone I just thought it would be neat that people donate cause :|'s are so eclectic and odd. I apologise I was under the assumption everyone was aware it was for BFP.:) :|

The word donate does not specifically mean "to a charity" It means to give a gift. Sometimes to charities. Sometimes not.

It means to gift something and not expect anything back.

That's how i take it anyway.

I donated time to my parents restaurant, back when they had one. It certainly wasn't for charity. It was just a gift.

Just giving my take on the word. I don't mean any offense to anyone.

YSK I didn't mean to start some kind of shit storm. It was just an assumption I made. Donate works fine.

SMH at the dictionary. Hoping I would have learned how to use one of those by grad school....

ysk the air has changed , kids getting ready to go back to shcool, hanging on to summer time night ,parents looking for quiet time. renovating property sounds echo threw the day time hours. surveys everywhere signs of an election year. my instincts r high. a peacefull calming blankets whats to come. sipping coffee listening to the life awakening.

YSK that going to college out of high school and grad school out of college is the way to go. This working and spending my weekends in class shit is for the birds.
