She was sitting at her desk laughing hysterically and calls me over. She is watching a video that my supervisor and a couple co-workers made about a new program that our dept. is switching too. In the video they jokingly talk about how this program will save us on toner, paper, pens and paper clips. What pisses me off is that 3 people are also losing their jobs. Me being one of them.

It seemed insensitive to me.

People who aren't honest. You aren't much if you don't have integrity. I don't get it, just do the right thing!

people thinking sarcasm = meanie cruel bo beanies. this coast, I swear, sometimes, with one of the highest standards of living can be some of the most uptight wank-a-thons going... *hair pull*

I have a feeling they don't actually know what sarcasm is. A form of language that uses opposites, in an intelligent manner (one hopes...) to show humour in an absurdity. Like those fake-humourous news sites like the Onion. Or,say, Irony. Irony is a form of sarcasm.

"Irony is: Something that happens contrary to what is typically expected or appropriate. Can apply to language, as when someone sarcastically says something but means the opposite, such as: “Justin Bieber’s pants look great.”"

To be able to use sarcasm between friends etc, one has to be able to laugh at themselves and be able to have a high enough self esteem/self acceptance that self deprecating humour is also appreciated. For example, when I'm wearing a tin foil hat for bleaching my hair, and face cream, being told "wow. that's hot. all you need is clown pants and I'd ask you to bend over." by a mate. this is sarcasm. and its FUNNY.

And the killjoys that I run into with their putting tears on organic broccoli flowers to give to the flying yoga mat riding orca of positivity in this coast sometimes irritates the living shit out of me.

just because I can laugh at myself and make jokes about myself or take the piss (smart arse) my friends does not not make me cruel or have low self esteem. sheesh.

I would rather say that I am disgruntled or irritated.

I have a project partner that works for a different company and today was the second time that he has called me to ask a question then when I try to respond he talks over me.

I am going to pull him aside and explain to him why that is rude and ask him to revise his behavior.

The car rental place......

I went there to finally get a car...(ive been without one for almost a week) and they dont have any....really?? I had a reservation and everything. So...the girl says come back after 3....Im getting some cars in from the city then....
Being that Ive been once bitten.....I called after 3.....yep....still nothing. Oh but she has something coming back in 30 minutes (mind you they close in an hour) and I told her jjust call me when (if) it comes in. Yeah. no call. So Im still carless...and they are only open 9am~ noon tomorrow...joy

It sounds kind of trite, but I find the signs on the highway that say "Stay awake for safety sake" really irritating. Shouldn't it be "safety's sake?" Or "for the sake of safety?"

Or maybe the whole point is that they irritate you into staying awake. At least that's what happened to me today.

I'm pissed at the system and at people who play the system.
Without getting too far into it (and thus getting pissed all over again)....
An ex employee, who quit 4 months ago, just filed for unemployment and it was granted. Meanwhile, she owns her own business (under a differnt name) (and let's not forget she actively took my clients' personal contact information with her to try and build her business) (unethical much) Previous to quitting, she refused a full time position because she would no longer qualify for free housing and food stamps. Oh, she's also going back to school for nursing, for free.

It's just frustrating. Is my moral compass way off here?

She got up today and told me she didn't go to work...because it was raining...she would have to park too far away and walk in the way...this from a professed "nature girl".

She justified it that it was a crappy job (first one she's found in 3 weeks) and paid only 50 dollars for 8 hours of work....

Fifty dollars is a whole lot better than zero...which is what she had previously

The only job she'd found this entire time...she worked one day and quit.

???

What HAS she been doing with her time? She goes to the pool...lays out....goes jogging....does yoga....and parties.

We should ALL be so lucky....

These starters!Fucking Fuck!

Twas yesterday...but it's really not something I'm going to just "let go".

I came home from work...and of course the roommate and the couch surfer were there, and there was an extra someone also...

So, I walked in the door after saying hello to all of them outside. On the kitchen table, plain as day, are things written on construction paper. They are apparently about my dog.

One said, " I smell bad and my favorite place to sleep is on your pillow."

I was just really taken aback by the energy that they put into just being mean. It has become apparent that they don't like Jacques...and it's also apparent that I do not like them. So I have an appointment on Monday to hopefully procure more suitable housing. Fingers crossed....

I feel your pain. I took last Monday and Tuesday off, just for me. On Monday, I was awoken by the guy with the loudest Harley in the complex, who has decided that next to my bedroom window is the best place to park his bike. On Tuesday, I was awaken by the storm (rare for a daytime storm here) at 6am, then two emergency weather alerts on my phone, then the landscapers outside my window. Really???? Ugh

The a.c. in my caddy quit,it could have waited till fall before it wen't bonkers to the tune of $300.00 bucks.

Same person, same result. This time I am pissed because she copied my status (about my life, not some inspirational quote or something similar) and posted it global. I have repeatedly asked her not to post pictures or info about me while her settings are global. Her response...I dont care who sees my posts. Ummmm, if I wanted to post globally, I would. Perhaps it is time to delete her even though she is family....grrrrrrr.

Local police and the FBI are currently searching for a local 2 y/o that's been missing since July. His mother has been arrested and is facing charges because she's giving inconsistent statements regarding his whereabouts and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. Too bad some not-so-gentle coercion can't be implemented to improve her memory. Some people have no business with a house plant, let alone a child. People who bring harm to children and those incapable of defending themselves, infuriate me.
