while I was taking out the trash...
I watched a distant lightening storm in the skies to the right... and beautiful stars to the left. Then all around the rose bushes, there were fireflies!! Earlier today, while standing on my deck, I watched a Momma Mallard duck come swooping in and land in the overgrown Ivy beds downstairs... she quickly tucked herself in like she knew where she was going. Then all you could see of her was just a little bit of her tail. The rest was all hidden by Ivy. I was on the phone with my best friend and got such a tickle out of the duck's tail sticking out - wiggling and fluffing her feathers. We BET she's got baby duckies!!! What a great place to hide them!! Moving day is soon... I won't get to see her babies... but it really tickled me to see Momma protecting her nest. I've never ever seen a duck next in Ivy beds before. |
Seeing a celebration of lesbianism sexuality thread emerge! It can be very disturbing to be a part of this website/community and begin to feel the same way I did when coming out as lesbian. The same bigotry against a sexual minority. Most members here would not dare take pot shots at let's say, BDSM sexuality as the site/community makes it clear that such behavior is unacceptable (which it is). But, it is OK to make the same kinds of derogatory remarks I remember well from cis men, and hets.
I am a queer lesbian butch and proud of it! I have never seen as much dissing of people as I have here! Yet, I feel deep kinship with many here. |

2 separate things...
1- Even if it was Yahoo IM, I got to 'talk ' a bit with My "better half" :sunglass: :wine: ... 2- I saw something today in wal-mart, and the Flood of a long-forgotten memory caught me off-guard..I found myself staring into space, I saw a 100% cotton Blanket,I got curious about the way it might feel...i touched it, clenched my hand with a fistfull of the blanket...i could see myself under the Mosquito net on the canopy bed in my grandmothers old home, my grandmother having a rough time settling me down, my mother slipping under and telling me Tall-tales of 'Juan Bobo'... I snapped out of it before someone figured me for a loon, and went to find 'alice in wonderland' on blu-ray :cheesy::happyjump: |
Even if I won't hear My friend's voice again for awhile after a nasty friendship break-up, atleast I heard their voice tonight and it did make Me smile :)

She use to love horses until she had to take care of all of them when i was wounded. I do believe there has been some karmic healing... |

Watching my little Frog Dog swimming in his custom-made (ever tried to fit anything on a French Bulldog?) life-jacket. He looked like an orange Malliard Duck with bat ears going back and forth trying to grab a ball he had actually popped out of his mouth into deeper water! I got him the life-jacket because I can't keep him out of the water- especially when big Labs & Goldens are in it. He is such a competitive little macho dog! No fear! No idea he is 24 pounds of muscle and should simply sink!
French Bulldogs are not supposed to like (or even be able to swim at all) water, let alone retrieve in it (or anywhere else)! He loves to play fetch... and fetch every other dog's ball around him! I was both in hysterics and in panic watching him. But, it was much better than the other day when he went out without his life-jacket on! It will be with us every single day when we go to the park all summer! Little twerp! I have to get some pics!!! |

What made me smile...
After the spat I had with my mom yesterday, she showed up at my job this morning, with a sweet little bouquet of wildflowers and told me she loved me. |
the following thoughts will get me through today....
It brings a smile and makes me content to think of how I will feel Friday night and waking up Saturday morning in my new home. I've moved many times before to "new apartments"... but the sense of being at HOME is very comforting. And I'm not just referring to the house with a roof over my head... the ENTIRE area and little country towns feel like Home. This is a good, long over due change for me. |
