Smoked brisket. It's in there now, almost ready to come out. I made a bbq sauce to throw on it after it come out of the smoker too.

it wouldn't be a holiday here in central CA without the tri-tip. i am going to throw in potato salad, watermelon, corn, and peach cobbler. but don't hate on the tri-tip. |

Today had eggs Norvégienne (toasted English muffin, poached organic eggs, Norwegian smoked salmon, Hollandaise sauce) at my local French café for brunch with a friend, and later in the day, mango and raspberry sorbets. Too hot for dinner!
We had our 4th of July bbq last night on the 3rd, grilled teriyaki chicken, grilled zucchini mint salad, roasted potato salad with olive oil, duck bacon, caramelized garlic, and French tarragon balsamic vinegar, dessert was Frangipane (pear and almond tart) and make your own Sundae. i went to the farm this morning to help out and get out of the house. and picked some veggies while i was there.
fresh cabbage sweet onions and a few fingerling potatoes will become dinner. and blueberry scones- the blueberry picking had just happened when i got there. yum! plus fresh eggs that i collected (i think it's fun so i sneak into the hen house). fun and delicious! |
I just picked up our farm share, so fresh vegetables will play a starring role:
--> bok choi, cippolini onions, fennel and tatsoi. |
It is 101 degrees in NYC! Hot! Went to the green market for more black currants, got huge bouquets of basil and cilantro to make two different kinds of pesto. I need to get some pine nuts and walnuts. Will probably have pasta with pea pods and red peppers, and pesto!
