What brought me joy today...

A beautiful, spring-like weather kinda day!

A lunch date with my mom at our favorite local deli.

Plans later for a little me time... YAY for pedicures!

I've got seagulls divebombing delivery trucks next door (it's amusing to watch them try to take a semi down), sunshine peeking through the clouds, and a super warm turtleneck on under my work shirt (I won't freeze when it gets dark! Woot!). It's not the FL beach in the summer, but it's good for now.

I found joy...
  • Listening to Romeo talk about his evening with his friends
  • Enjoying cowboy queso with an old friend in for SXSW
  • Negotiating boundaries and expectations
  • Realizing my x key is sticking while writing THIS post :blah:
  • Just breathing my ins and outs

The sun is out and I am going to the dog park (Hee-heee... yes, there will be a special woman there, too)!!! But, not before finishing this GD storage shed!!

And, tonight I will be changing the clocks for DST!! Life is good!!

WOOT!!

I am adopting a 10 year old newfoundland dog, named Dawson. No one wanted the poor thing because he was so old. (10 is their average life expectancy)

I just received an email from his original breeder. Several years back she had to divorce her husband and because of that, had to sell off all of her newfoundlands, including one of her stud dogs, Dawson.

She was so glad to know he was going to a good home. I am so happy I get to know his first human missus. What a wonderful connection this has been!

a dedication to special friends

Sincerely caring, compassionate, kind, supportive, sweet friends that go out of their way to make me feel cared for and cared about... both on a normal day...and when you need them the most.

The kind of friends that would NEVER turn you away when you are ill or down. (even if they think you are a pain in the butt, they share their kindness and support)

The kind of friend that tries to make you laugh and feel good when they know you are hurting.

The kind of friend that, no matter what time of day or night it is, always makes time for you.

The kind of friend that offers you so much bright sunshine on a rainy day.

The kind of friend that does "small things" to lift your spirit... just because they care.

The kind of friend that drops everything (if they possibly can) to show up at your house to walk the dogs because you were too ill to hobble down the steps.

The kind of friend that patiently sits by your hospital bed at all hours of the night and gently squeezes your hand to let you know you're not alone, hands you a warm wash cloth when your eyes burn and offers their shoulder to cry on when you hear that your daddy passed away in the middle of the night (even if that support is offered from miles away, it felt like they were in the same same room with me).

I can not find the words to express how much joy they bring me, or how much I admire them. But I can say... I would do the very same thing for these friends WHENEVER they need me.

Where would we all be without such wonderful, supportive, sincerely caring friends? I feel so blessed to have some really special people in my life. Each one of you make life worth living and give me such joy!!

MUCH TLC to each of you!!!

My good pal, Mel. Always a treat to see her. I'm going to Mel's to help her land scape and garden her yard. I've never know a Peach in the truest sense of the word.
