Heard this am that the oil spill has hit Alabama (Mobile, where my ex was born and lived during her childhood) and I'm thinking of all the good years with my ex-in-laws eating Alabama shrimp, catfish, oysters, crawfish (but they are fresh water beings) hush puppies, black-eyed peas, fried ochra and fried green tomatoes. I am almost glad my ex-mother-in-law has been in a nursing home due to a massive stroke (not reallyglad about that) because she would be so upset about her beloved sweet sunny south.... What have we done? What have we given license to? |
