My profession gives me the opportunity to meet and interview very interesting people. This afternoon I interviewed a Swami who does peace work world wide. It is really moving to see what humans can accomplish when they put their minds to it. This makes me smile!! I am grateful to have the opportunity to talk to such interesting people.....

It's all about the purge.

I'm moving my office into another building, so I took great joy in throwing stuff away.

And, lately, another thing that has brought me joy is deleting old text messages.

Mister Bent 04-30-2010 04:41 PM

much happiness

Deleting, in general.

And the idea of space colonization.

Louis L'Amour brings me joy.
Kilkenny is my favorite of his. He has three books with this character and I love it.

A beautiful butterfly today.

Butterbean 05-01-2010 02:02 AM

I hired a new lawn guy and he came and filled a pickup truck and an extra long trailer with old junk from my yard that has never been cleaned up. It was heavy stuff like an old fridge in the alley and cement work that was not properly removed afterward. He also found a washing machine buried in the backyard. And then he mowed and whacked everything in sight!

My yard looks great and I'm inspired to paint the house and fence in the yard now! WOO! HOO!

Joy is the delicious peace that ensues when your middle aged white neighbor, with a fondness for loud rap music, leaves for work.

:sigh:

- sinking my toes into the sand and water.

- straight women deciding it's fun to flirt with the cute butch.

Life is good!!!

Buying books in an online bookfair to support a local art program for kids. I rarely need an excuse to drop some dough on books, and I love to support anything that encourages kids to be creative. So, a win-win. :)

I just cannot stop smiling. Then I remember that Jesus told APD and June to steal the baby. Is it bad that I want to help them out with that so we can all share her?

Zimmeh 05-01-2010 08:35 PM

Going to the movies with my three year old niece, nine year old niece and thirteen year old nephew and having the baby laugh at Alice in Wonderland.

Playing kickball with my nephew and deciding that hanging out with them was much more important than a birthday party in Orlando.

Knowing that in less than five weeks, my oldest niece and nephew will be down here for the summer.

Licious 05-01-2010 09:41 PM

Phone call was nice, really needed someone to chat with today. :) Lucky me for my friends.

Being the boss.

Write14u 05-02-2010 10:14 AM

Waking up to the sound of a strong wind blowing in off the Gulf and the sound of waves crashing on the beach. It almost rivaled the beautiful moon over the back bay last night when I went to sleep.

apretty 05-02-2010 11:25 AM

tending the garden before coffee (our coffee maker takes FOREVER to brew so i had plenty of time!), and though i hate that my hands are still dyed green, (why must they dye the bamboo green? what's wrong with plain, bamboo-colored bamboo?!) i enjoyed staking new tomato growth and tying/guiding the older growth so that none of the fruit will sit on the ground and possibly rot.

i watered the patio, the garden and put the soaker hose along the wall where the peas are trailing up nicely. the sage (large varieties) have doubled and tripled in size and one looks like it's about to flower. we probably have 30-40 green tomatoes of all different sizes, peppers, giant chard, squash, radishes, carrots, tomatillos and herbs up to my knees.

Hack 05-02-2010 11:43 AM

My housemate and I have sort of taken to being a buddy to a developmentally disabled kid who lives next door to us. He comes and borrows Xbox 360 games from us a few times a week. Today, he asked us if we would come to his elementary school graduation on June 9. I told him not only would we attend, but we'd get him a present too.

Oiler41 05-02-2010 11:49 AM

Several Things:

1. Watching the birds enjoying their little feeding spot and bird bath that we set up in the yard,

2. A beautiful sunny day,

3. Seeing a hummingbird again today,

4. Reading the comments on our wedding website,

5. Realizing yet again that I am so happy to be living the life that I have now! It's good,,very good!
