Abandoned: Chernobyl 27 years later
The fair ground is one of the more contaminated parts of the town. It had been due to open on 1 May 1986, five days after the disaster, and was never used.

This is a piece of the Esquel meteorite, a meteorite found in Chubut, Argentina in 1951 as a single mass weighing more than 700 kilograms. It is a pallasite meteorite, and that is why it contains such strange shapes and patterns. The air is coolish, I have on a big ole elderly sweat shirt There are crickets chirping Earlier today I got a giant katydid to walk on my hand so I could look at it up close The train is rumbling by up the street, blowing its horn The big rectangular hypertufa pot has a few straggler purple alyssum blooming The Moon flower is getting leaves again (I didn’t think it would come back) I love that plant, the flowers are huge and feel like soft leather |
