- taking some steps today that will lead me down the path i need for some inner healing, recovery & much needed peace... i'm quite often amazed at how much i strive for better, no matter how difficult the journey.. And putting myself out there for all to see, at my most fragile state is so scary.. But the growth that comes from doing so, makes me crave more & more - & that makes me smile big & makes this journey so worthwhile.
- time with Mr Mtn, and how we're always present, everyday for one another.. We laugh, & enjoy our time so much.. It's never strained & all flows so easily.. And our days seem to get better & better.. damn, i love Him so! - Seeing the children excited about their Christmas plans with their father & his family.. While i will be sad they won't be here for Christmas with me, i find smiles within for the fact they'll be celebrating it happily, surrounded by LOTS of family .. And i know we can celebrate once they're home after New Year's.. i don't show them my sadness i'll be without them, because i want them to really have a wonderful holiday, but i'm truly going to miss them with all my heart.. - looking around my place today, and thinking i'm not rich in possessions, but i sure am rich in blessings... and life is really, friggin' GREAT! i'm one very happy girl♥ |

My daughter, pregnant with my first grandchild, calling me to update me on my son-in-law, who is deployed. "Hey, mom, Paul is playing in the sand, he's building me castles, so I can share them with the baby."
I think they are all special! Why do I think my life is difficult? Going to SD, CA, in march...already have dates with her friends! Can't wait, have been out with them before, and they are great. Baby *Logan* is due then, Paul won't be home until May....how well loved can the baby be by then? Poor man!!!! |

The fact that I'm going back to GA on the 29th. Had a great time here in the DC area and made some new friends. Time to try something new now (going back to my gypsy ways lol). I have an invite from a friend near Orlando to come and stay and look for work there. So after the first of the year I will be in FL. Did I mention that it's a LOT warmer in FL than here in DC this time of year?? Oh yeah, and hoping to meet up with some BFP peeps in Januray sometime. :hk13: |

Listening to Jack play "plumber by phone" with one of her buddies. He's a good man-cub and was overjoyed to have hot water before Christmas.

today i was at the big box electronic store (fry's) shopping for a holiday gift for the pops.
the store was a hustle and bustle of holiday shoppers and as i snaked my way through the isles, desperately hoping for some gift inspiration, i stumbled upon a most curious scene. i had resigned myself to fry's defeat; nothing would be bought here today. i started my loop back and that's when i saw it; an extravaganza, 92 inches of high definition and full bose surround sound. was it the siren's call of adele - live at the royal albert hall or the gravitational pull of the enormous screen? i can't say but i was reeled in. then my real life christmas movie moment occurred. i found myself mesmerized watching adele singing chasing pavements and a couple other tunes in "stunning color and clarity" and before i knew it; in front of the display a group of 20 people (give or take) had gathered. adele, bigger than life, dwarfed us all and serenaded the crowd with her smash hit - someone like you. when adele handed the chorus over to her on-screen fans the store crowd joined in the chorus and sang along too. i looked around and noticed an even larger crowd was gathered watching the smaller crowd who were now the chorus for the adele performance. i imagined that the security office was watching the crowd, who was watching the smaller crowd, who were watching the original performance, like some big infinity mirror illusion. the second chorus started and the onlooker next to me raised her phone to capture the scene. a sales rep right behind us placed his hand on her shoulder and said "don't ruin the moment." my onlooking neighbor lowered her phone and i noticed that much of the larger crowd had joined in on the chorus sing along too. it really was like the grand finale of a family holiday movie where the whole cast of characters come together and sing. the crowd was swaying and everything. as the song ended and the crowd on-screen applauded, so did the store crowd. many stayed for the next song, i splintered off and headed for the door. i suppose i'm a bit of a rube for getting caught up in what i now suspect was an elaborate sales ploy and it worked; i ended up spending 10 minutes in line for a small flash drive that my pops will never use and i really don't need, but $4 + tax seems like a fair price for a good story and i guess i did smile. |
