Seeing my step daughter smile.

Watch my 27 yo son's face light up when he walked in from work and I was there with a belated cake to acknowledge his birthday that I had missed because we were both working. :cheesy:

What made it so different was that he was originally supposed to be born on the 21st, today... but actually was born on the 18th. So technically it was still his birthday! LOL :D

Having my niece back in my life after a year and a half

Also...Making a decision that was very hard for me...but was the right thing to do for my long-term happiness. Even though it will be tough......this brought an inner peace to me.

Yesterday and carried over to today....


The lovely chamber music concert that Teddy took me to....they played Mozart and Brahms...and even though I've always preferred the latter, my favorite piece was actually one of Brahms'....

After the concert, we meandered in the Berkshires...found by accident the largest state park in the state, October Mountain. Definitely have to return to hike and kayak there...many miles of trails to traverse :)

Then we drove through historic Lenox... a tiny town with grand architecture...just such a lovely day <3

the little boy who lives next door (7-8 years old) came over to me while I was outside in my yard (glorious day and it was SO nice to be out there) and asked me, like a lil gentleman, how my shoulder was doing. He has been my neighbor for 3 years. I have watched him move from post toddler stages to actual child age.

I showed him my scar and demonstrated what range of mobility I have right now. He asked me quite a few questions and we chatted about all my surgeries on this shoulder. As he left, he turned and said to me, "if you ever need anything, Ma'am, I would be glad to help you. I like you. You have nice dogs." LOL.

I love kids. They keep it very simple....

Sitting outside this morning, with a cup of hot tea, watching a beautiful Arizona sunrise.

Getting a compliment from a Very hard to please boss at work. He actually said, "you did an amazing job, thank you"...Shocker!

Eating some watermelon was oh so sweet!

Finally getting to help....

What made me smile today - was the end to this story. So bear with me and read through it... :reader:

Today I made pot pies for the shelter kids. One of the guys was insistant on not listening to me when I said it was fresh from the oven and hot. He took the pot pie out of his bowl and was trying to dump it from the container directly into the bowl when it slipped and splattered all over his hand. Reluctantly he put his hand under running cold water. "It still burns," he said. So I had him slather his hand with butter. Again he wimpered that it was still burning. I said he needed to try one more thing or we would have to get him to the ER. He was willing to try anything before going to the ER. So I went to a locked med cabinet and pulled out a hidden tube of toothpaste "paste" that I had hidden away. I had him wash off the butter and slather his hand with the paste. Instantly he felt relief. I checked on him twice throughout the day and there was no sign of a burn whatsoever. No swelling. No fever. No redness. No blisters.

He was happy. I was happy. We all were happy!!

I have yesterday to catch up on first.

I smiled yesterday feeling relaxed, still full of energy and having things come together in my head and outside of it, in terms of getting my business project started. I am so very greatful.

I am smiling today because despite the rain, it was a wonderful day! It was peaceful and I got to have a lot of fun at work making conversation. I sent a few texts that made me smile too.

Now I am floating in my daydreams thinking about yesterday and today while getting dressed to head out to supper with my boss. I don't know what to wear yet so maybe I will double check where he wants to go.

I feel great. I am free, happy and following my gypsy soul dreams.

6 tiny, soft Rhode Island Red chickies... their soft peep peeps and red fluff with new little wing and tail feathers starting ..how they huddle together when napping ...
I went to the garden center and got distracted by the peeps .. came home with 6 and forgot about my tomatoes until just now. They're too sweet .. hope they grow up soon and give lots of fresh eggs!
