A little while ago, my little pooch Jennifer Avery, ate all her dinner. She has not eaten much at all the past few days because she sprained her left back leg.

Anyway, I nuked her 4 eggs with grated cheese and shaved turkey mixed in with her eggs. Actually I made it this morning for her breakfast. She did not eat a bite of it so I bagged it, saved in fridge.

This afternoon I noticed she was putting weight on the leg, playing some.

Jennifer is much much better and that brings me joy! She gobbled up her dinner like the little pocket pittie piglet she is! LOL!

This current situation: scalding bath with a delicious Lush bubble bar, hot cup of cinnamon tea, iPad, Words with Friends. Wee!

My old doggy and all his gentleness.
My pup and how much she's enjoying playing like a wild baby goat bouncing around a big, nearly-empty livingroom.
Seeing how much better Skippy is feeling.
And watching Tashi have just as much fun as the pup.

I was at my state capital today lobbying around areas of addiction and recovery. The morning opened with a bunch of standard speakers. That part of the day closed with a drag show put on by a youth group that uses the arts as part of their recovery program, including classes teaching drag/vogue/dance. They put on a phenomenal closing act. I got to chat with them after and started arranging them to come to our city for a one day workshop for youth to learn drag and presentation and put on a show for a fundraiser for their program and ours. Total highlight of the week!

haunted by budgies..

My PC is haunted by budgies. No, honestly, that's what it sounds like!

Last night, I played Civilisation V a bit, and the backround noises for the game include birdsong. Although it doesn't sound quite like typical UK birdsong, and when I thought about it, I was put in mind of a small flock of budgies that hadn't learnt any words from humans. a little tuneful, and quite sweet. Anyway, so I exited the game, and exited from Steam. Or rather, I had selected those options...

So this morning, when I ambled out of my bedroom I was surprised to note that there appeared to be birdsong coming from my lounge. Had I left a window open? No. Then I realised it was coming from my PC. checking the open desktops, no sign of Civ V, but the Steam window was still there. So I used Task Manager to kill the Steam process, which should have ended matters.

But no. STILL the budgies are twittering away.. carefully checking Task Manager, I see there's a rogue process accessing the audio systems, and there we are. Kill - no. Kill! No! Damned process will not die. I'll have to shut my PC down and restart it.

And yet I find myself strangely reluctant to do so.

My PC is haunted by budgies, and I love it!

Update to the above. Having returned from the dentists and handed in an essay assignment, I trawled through the Steam file directories looking for the Civ V files, hoping that the relevant file would be held in a normal file format rather than some esoteric thing that only Civ V could play, or some such.

I'm happy to report that I found the relevant file, and can now play it any time I want.

I have virtual pet budgies in my PC!

Being on time with my projects at work.

Feels like our team is in the middle of a storm with things moving around so quickly, but we’re getting things done and it looks like we’ll meet our Monday deadline. The key is to over communicate instead of hesitating to ask or notify.

Waking up and not finding a foot of snow outside my door brought me joy. It's still messy but manageable.

I have 4 work-husbands who have been steady, strong, and present with me throughout the last several years of all that life has brought me.
Today we took a little break from work and the entire team went on an outing for lunch and a little bowling.
I caught myself having a silent moment of joy sitting on the bench waiting for my turn to bowl as I watched each of them wrapping their giant paws around the shoes and laughing in that deep way that only the most bear-like men can do.

I am so fucking grateful to have these men as my coworkers and brothers.

There are several folks at my job who have referred to our little group as "Bonnie and all her Clydes" and it always feels like much less of an indictment of me having a lot of male friends and more of an acknowledgement of the "partners in crime" vibe that we all have.

My heart is joyous and grateful. <3

There was a lady and her daughter at the meat counter today. I heard her say what kind of steak do we want her daughter said ribeye. The mom said I don't know how to cook rib eyes. So I stepped over and told her how to cook steak without cooking it on the grill and how to cook ribeyes. I told her I usually get the small sirloins because they are tender and they are plenty big once you add the other fixings with your supper. She thanked me and as I walked away she said I'm and she said her name which of course I don't remember I told her mine and moved alone. The next thing I know I was going down an aisle and she was there again. She stopped me and ask me what kind of Shaker did I say to use on the steaks. So it brought me joy to tell someone how to fix themselves and enjoyable supper
