Today a complete stranger extended kindness to me.
I went into the village today to shop. I stopped at the hardware store to get some Iris bulbs for a garden that I made for mom. The cashier said that they didn't have any Iris bulbs in the store but she had some Iris plants in her yard and would be happy to share some with me if I dug them up. She took my name and number and sent me a photo of her plants. Joy. |

Riding my bike in the cool temp of the morning. Feeling the burn in my thigh muscles. Listening to the calm of the neighborhood. Looking at all the signs of spring!

A few things did.
It seemed that every stranger whose path crossed with mine today was extra friendly. My furry one seems to be doing lots better with an issue that the vet hasn’t been able to figure out. Climbing into crisp, clean sheets after a long, hot shower will always be one of life’s simple joys. Tomorrow is Friday. :bouquet: |
Finding a great blog and an amazing recipe for blueberry muffins. Before I could never get the berries not to bleed. Mostly people recommend coating them in flour before dumping them in but that's never worked for me. Neither have any of the other tips I've read. This one did and even better is specifically for using frozen berries. That's handy because I usually wait until there is a sale, buy them by the flat, then put them up that way. Anyhow these are so so good, just perfect for breakfast or :tea: time.

We have a new family member. A beautiful hybrid wolf puppy. She was howling in the kitchen and I joined her. She looked at me quizzically and giggled. I have never seen a wolf giggle before. Precious.

Last night it was the sound of Medusa’s rauctious cackle as the two of us played conversational pinball, and bounced from pencil dicks to monkey pox to Gambian rats to bed bugs (Really, it was WAY more hilarious than it sounds).
Today it was the memory of that conversation, and that damned infectious cackle of hers. |
