Brewers are up 2-0 over the Diamondbacks. They are looking pretty strong and unbeatable right now. Phillies and Cards are tied 1-1. Phillies are looking strong but Cards did manage to pull out last nights game. I am still rooting for the Cards but they will have to play exceptional ball or hope the Phillies pitching staff tanks. Pesky hitters. Tigers evened the series against New York. Yanks were looking a lil tired yesterday or water logged from playing in the rain again. Valverde made it interesting as usual. I still think the youth of the Tigers will play to their advantage. I am also thinking the loss of the travel day due to the rainout will play in Detroits favor. Rangers/Tampa Bay are tied 1-1. I still like Tampa's chances here. Tampa seems to have a lot of enthusiasm and get it done when they have to. Rangers are looking a lil flat to me and I dont see the hunger that I did in last years playoffs. Between baseball and football yesterday, I am recovering from a sports od. :seeingstars: |
football is ok for me,
but about all i do is check scores, highlights lol. i tried the fantasy football a couple times. when i did pretty good, it felt like i took a test ... guessed at the answers ... just luck, didn't know the material lol. i know women like all sports, but i've always wondered why it seems that the sport most women like is football! lol another thing i've wondered about is how can a man get paid thousands/millions of dollars and have a batting average below .250! if you can't hit any better than that ... let me do it! i'll be back later to tell ya'll why the brewers are doing so well lol ... |
The Rangers do seem a bit flat to me. I still think they have a great lineup. I like most of the players for Texas. The opening game between Tampa and Texas was stunning for me. What fabulous pitching from Tampa...they handed it to Texas. Game two was pretty exciting. But I do like me some Texas ball.
I have only watched part of one game between Brewers and the D-backs. They pulled it out last night. I am not too involved with those teams. I don't know much about the players. I recognize a name here and there, but that's about it. I did enjoy the Phillies and Card game last night. I thought the "two strike zone" commentary and comments was interesting. I could certainly understand how frustrating that would be. But I thought it was a pretty exciting game. |
It has to be so frustrating for managers and players when the home plate ump is making inconsistent strike calls. And these days with all of the tech tracking, they really can't get away with this. I had to agree with Tony La Russa- but I think being a MLB umpire would not be easy, either.
Yeah, the Rangers do look a little flat compared to last year's play-off games, but I think they can pull it off again. But, TB won't make it easy!! Whew! Tigers!! Kewl, Cards and Ugh, D-backs! They are the team I have watched the most because of being out west, an NL fan and my Giants are in the same division. They turned things around from last season so well, I want them to win! But, the Brewers are playing some good ball out there. They may clinch tomorrow. Can't wait to see Verlander pitch- have to record games today, teach this afternoon and have to get to a doc's appointment in SF before going to work. My poor dog is not happy with my schedule!! Must get him out for a neighborhood leash walk now before I leave for I have t do today. Hummm.. probably should stop in a pet store while out and find him a new toy or ball.... |
VERLANDER IS ON FIRE!!!!!
HOLY MOLY. 100 m/p/h... :flyaway: :firetruck: :fireman: :fireworks: |
if the yankees had pitchers like verlander and fisher (fisher will bounce back, btw) ...
i don't think they'd lose a game. from the top of the yankee lineup to the bottom, an opposing pitcher doesn't get a breather. if the tigers win this series, they'll need to rest lol. they've got their hands full. a good thing for detroit, ... burnett pitches tomorrow for the yankees. the dbacks checked their ball smarts at the door. and the brewers are having a great time. they believe they belong at the top. texas vs tampa bay harrison vs hellickson philadelphia vs st. louis hamels vs garcia new york vs detroit burnett vs porcello milwaukee vs arizona marcum vs collmenter harrison, hamels, and marcum should get the job done tomorrow. possible celebrations tomorrow! |
WOOT for Detroit! I have a feeling about them!
Damn, the D-backs have made some dumb things! Not the team I have seen during the season. But don't count them out quite yet. I really want them to beat the Brewers!!! Glad to see the Rangers are staying in there. But, they need to get some chatter and ooooomph going out there tomorrow. The Rays might come back and womp them! And I'm going with the Cards. But, I don't know how they will do in the next series if they win this first round. Dunno- the Phillies are hella good- I can see a Phillies vs. Tigers WS. |

I quoted myself cause I wanted to say...I have admiration for eyes and brains that work so well together. And muscles that trian. And bodies that move with such amazing percision. What I do know, cause like I know me, is if a small cylindrical object was flying at me at 100 m/p/h I would probably shriek:scared: and dive. Just sayin'. And after my stroke, oh yeah I soooo rock hand eye coordination (NOT)!! Hand/eye and fine balance are the two things I never quite recovered. And some other minor issues, but all in all I am extremely lucky and healthy. |
Tigers v Skankees was a GREAT game last night.
The Detroit Choir of God did your National Anthem. It was real classy. Then This: (Also Detroit Choir of God) It wasn't the same video that played last night, of course. Parts were the same (like the city of Detroit footage and some of the children) but the sports footage was all Tigers) Holy shit. Verlander is amazing. He pitched the entire first 8 innings and was throwing 100mph right up to the end. He struggled a little in the 7th inning and gave up a couple of walks that should have been avoided (he let the fuckers catch up!) but he got it back together for the 8th inning. I love Papa Grande. Some drunk guy heckled the hell out of Sabathia through the entire game. He was screaming "HEY CC! I've got some potato chips up here!" It was funny the first couple of times, but after that it got tired. Because you know what? Clearly the man isn't in bad physical shape if he can pitch like that. And it's not his fault he plays for the Yankees. ;) People were SO excited last night. I've been to a few games, but clearly never to the playoffs. I couldn't get over how high energy the crowd was. And friendly as hell. The guy sitting in the seat to my left was at the game alone (he was older, I'd give him 65-70) and every time we all jumped to our feet he'd grab my elbow and haul me up with him. By the end of the game we were best friends, I swear. He even hugged me when we won. I think we'll win these playoffs. Just one more tiny game, that's all it's gonna take. |

You bet we will keep you posted! |
Here's the choir doing your national anthem last night. The video doesn't do them justice. Seriously.

Hey, Hey Rangers!!
UGH! It is 4-1, Yankees..... damn, I don't want Detroit out of it!!! And to be honest, the Yankees are my least favorite MLB team. COME ON TIGERS!!! |
ALDS UPDATE
Game 3 working Score: top 8th
Yankees 4 Tigers 1 Detroit now leads the ALDS 2-1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Game 3 Final Score: Rangers 4 Rays 3 Texas now leads the ALDS 2-1 |

ETA: 6-1 now. |

No. That was game 4. The Rangers eliminated the Rays today. |
Ok Texas won the series. Tampa gave it a good shot but came up short. The Phillies are now up 2-1 after outsmarting LaRussa. The Yankees are spanking the Tigers 10-1! Tonight Burnett had to have his best outing in an otherwise horror show of a season? LOL. And the D-backs are finally maybe gonna win one. |

Oh, yes, the Yankees hammered the Tigers. ARGH. Come on Detroit!!! |
I love amazing catches. Those plays where they catch in the air, flip around and throw while still in the air...gets a HELL YA from me everytime. I love it. Some of those dive catches the outfielders make... oh my. I know my arm muscles and intercostal muscles would be SCREAMING if I dove and slid for X amount of feet. :seeingstars: And the speed at which hitters get the heck outta the way when some of those pitches go wild (whether on purpose or not is not always a given).
Anyway, my PVR is set and I am recording two games tonite. I would love to go home and watch them live, but I am really dedicated to my gym routine right now. |
GO Tigers, GO D-Backs!!!
