Right now I'm thinking a lot about lack of transportation at the new apartments. Which is crazy because I have it here and never, ever use it. Haven't for years and years. So what does it matter if I'm out there without it then? I think it's just the psychological aspect of it. Though I don't make use of public transportation here I could if I wanted to. Out there it just isn't an option. I like being able to use it if I want to and then not using it. I don't think I'm going to like not being able to use it, even if I don't want to.

Playing hooky tomorrow. I’ll check email in the morning. If it’s quiet as it has been then I’ll stay home and will take care of my foot that’s been cramping. If a lot of emails are flying then I’ll just go in the office. Maybe I can get out early.

JDeere 08-25-2019 11:03 PM

Hoping to get overtime at work.

To be away from family 😆

RebelDyke 08-26-2019 02:08 PM

everything

everything seems to be coming down on me all at once these past two weeks. Gearing up for practicum, helping fellow graduate students with books (lending them mine), and juggling all of my jobs. I never seem to have time for myself.. and i am starting to feel the weight of it all

Orema 09-10-2019 04:32 AM

A project manager I’m working with.

She’s running late and it’s annoying as fuck. She was suppose to have things to us early last week, then late last week, then yesterday ... hopefully something will be waiting for us when I get in the office.

Have also been thinking about getting a cat. We’ll see.

Kenna 09-10-2019 05:03 AM

My best friend. I hate he has to work in this awful heat.

I love my fur babies but if I had a do-over, I'd go for Sphynx. Too much fur flying around over here plus you can dress them up in cute sweaters!

Granted, I just finished dusting, so that may tilt my view.

On my mind....

The job interview I just had. Eleven people over 5 hours. I'm mentally drained. Bottom line...they fed me salad for lunch so how great of a workplace could it be?

But seriously, I want the job. I hope they make an offer soon.

Really? Not sure I want a hairless cat. Was thinking of getting one with short hair. I had a female Tabby and a male Russian Blue years (decades) ago. And if I get one, I’ll probably get two because I work during the day and wouldn’t want one to get lonely.

I’ve gone through this every couple years since I last had a pet.

Have been visiting the web pages of my local human society.

And thanks for the reminder about the flyin’ fur—I’ll keep looking for now.

Actually, Sphynx cats aren't hairless. They have peach fuzz!

Both of mine are short-haired but Loki has super fine fur and it comes off if you look at it sideways. I brushed him twice yesterday and got the same amount of fur each time. I wish he'd let me vacuum him.

You gotta stay away from those sites unless you are serious. They get you RIGHTHERE in the heart.

RebelDyke 09-12-2019 10:15 PM

Sigh, lots.

Tomorrow's agenda is definitely on my mind.....
-meetings for half the day
-I'd like to catch up on my laundry
-grading papers
-reading journals
-work this weekend
-department picnic (sigh)
-social events
-relationship(s)
-practicum
-my orders
-and everything else under the sun

and this is just what I pulled from my head in the 30seconds it took to write this post

YEAH! I definitely make lists in my sleep...:readfineprint:

On my mind

I had major surgery on August 26th. It will be a year to recover. I did not receive one get well card and no flowers from anyone. Not my family, friends, or GF at the time. That hurt my feelings. I guess that effort is in the past now.

JDeere 09-22-2019 09:10 PM

Job stuff....

Gotta find a new job

The whole deal with my folks trying to sell the house..im trying to convince them to take whatever they get and move back to Oklahoma. And yes I will go with them as I'm the only one who actually helps since dad had his leg amputated last year.

Bèsame* 09-23-2019 06:36 AM

Why am I up soo early?

Kenna 10-10-2019 09:08 PM

It's perfect camping weather. If it wasn't for the baby possums visiting the porch every night while I'm house sitting way out in the wilds, I'd be sleeping outside tonight.

Orema 10-15-2019 11:30 AM

Work is on my mind. We have a few projects we have to wrap up by the end of the year. People keep saying "we have till the end of the year." Well, that's less than 12 weeks away with three major holidays coming up. So that means we really have about 10 weeks, if we're lucky.

I was supposed to get files last Friday and here it is Tuesday and I'm still waiting. Will have a discussion with my manager in a few minutes. Hopefully, we can extend the deadline, but that may not happen.

Think I'd rather be at the dentist right now instead of twiddling my thumbs.

Waiting is not my strong suit—especially when we have deadlines. I'm sure there's a lesson in this.

Ender 11-18-2019 02:10 AM

It's been a minute since I've been here. Thought I'd check back in and see what's new.

Good morning 🌺 I don’t need to vent, per say, but I’m having exciting sexy thoughts this morning. I have the day off, not teaching today, it’s cold and rainy out.. I think I’m going to stay in bed and do fun and sexy things 💕👠

How people say one thing and do something else.

What is going on???

I can see thu that! LOL

RebelDyke 11-18-2019 05:47 PM

This up coming week. There is a lot that is due, and I am likely to be a little late on some of it, spot on for others. My students have an exam at the end of the week...but next week will start thanksgiving week and a vast majority of them are already begging to have Tuesday off. I'm not sure I want to agree to that.

My gi tract

Time for another visit to the doc..

Chad 11-21-2019 12:48 PM

Tomorrow, I have two doctors appointments and three medical tests. All yearly checkups plus PT for me and PT for mom. I will be running from appointment to appointment.

I expect the usual good results.

Orema 11-21-2019 01:09 PM

A dentist appointment at lunch time.

Gráinne 11-21-2019 02:26 PM

My son arrives on Sunday night from Virginia, where he's in the Marines. If I barely recognized him at boot camp graduation, then even less at Christmas last year, what will he be this time?

The fact that I have lots to do, noodled around all morning, and now have to go to work to, you know...work. I'm not feeling any of it.

The fact that we're barreling towards the end of the year, and I'm wondering what happened to 2019? Next year seems to loom so large, for my personal life, to this board, and to the "big picture" everywhere. I'm glad years come one day at a time.

As someone who was on pof dont do it. Mostly fake accounts and catfishes or computer bots.

Idk about up there but here there aren't many women only bars, clubs. It's all mixed now. Alot of use seek love online, I am in quite a few Facebook groups and am meeting ladies, ones who have some of the same interests as me etc.

Pof is known for alot of computerized bots and catfishing. Facebook has it too but is easier to weed them out via video chat on messenger.

Collette, I use to go mainly to Cambridge or 519 but they are long done with their music. Toronto has a couple clubs but it is all young people with very poor taste in music for any dancing I can do, so I just gave up.

Over the past 15-20 years or so here ln the US, I have noticed the disappearance of "Womyn's bars." My view as to why this is occurring is the same as the disappearance of Womyn's Bookstores, womyn's music concerts, and other separatists/womon's only events will cause many here come down on me, but it is my view that Radical Feminism has waned.

We put a tremendous amount of energy into womyn's issues such as pro-choice, womyn's work rights, Gay and Lesbian rights, AIDS work, lesbian press, anti-war work, on and on until many womyn just burned out on community activity.

This is what I've noticed since joining the Womyn's Movement in 1974-76. The mood was energetic, but as the years went on, the energy level began to fall. An example would be as a Mich-fest worker from the beginning of the fest to it's culmination, womyn's attitudes and cooperation started to level off. During that time, I lived in Chicago and Ft. Lauderdale noticing the amount of womyn's bars becoming fewer and womyn's coffeehouses became non-existent.

It's sad, and I can't think of any ways to reverse this trend.

cathexis, this is all so true but you cant think of a way to change things because you would have to change the way many of todays gay youths think. I remember getting into fights just going to a bar or club and this is with straight guys LOL. We fought like hell to get clubs and bars that we could safely go to but today it is there for the taking except in many places where straights still think they run the show. The club I use to go to out of town was the best. An hour away but worth every mile. Nice owners, good clubbers and good music. She gave up the club when her partner passed away. Too bad they had a nice club and were both loved by all. Times they are changing and we can only think back on how it use to be. Kickin and grinnin LOL. We had a good time.
