my mother picking me up for work at a god awful hour just because she didnt want me to walk this morning, and she bought me breakfast.
my father calling to tell me to leave the keys in my truck because he is going to take it to the shop to get it fixed. (the power steering went out 2 days ago) hearing that my sister got a job interview tomorrow, shes been unemployed for nearly 3 years and i am crossing my fingers for her! HIM. we havent had the time together we usually do, but just the sound of His voice makes my heart skip a beat. The reminder that He completes me, that i feel the happiest I have ever felt, and it makes me smile knowing that I am completely and totally in love. |

Thinking about the time spent with My girl last night. (f). She makes Me smile daily.
A phone call with an advisor at a college I plan to attend, knowing that I am going to finally do something I have put off for a long time. :) Getting My name *dropped* by a place where I volunteer to the American Red Cross for a position they have open. It is nice to be thought of in that type of way. :) |
my Lovers made me smile as i kissed them off to work. The day is dark and filled with chill yet THEY warmed my heart with a three way hug. The smile may last all day.

Waking up to an email from her always makes me smile before I am even awake. Letting her know when I am awake and knowing that she smiles when she receives my text. The honest sharing that goes on between us. The way we can talk to each other about everything. The way we are taking our time. The excitement I feel when she calls and her beautiful face appears on my phone.

Watching my kiddo lug in her teacher gifts for the last day of school. Big baskets filled with fruit, chocolate, and gift cards with thank-you notes she took hours making.
Remembering how yesterday she offered me the money in her piggy bank if the gifts cost too much. What a sweet kid! Blue skies, fluffy white clouds and the glazed pots on my front porch bursting with color. Archery instruction Saturday and boating on Monday. Cookouts in between. Reading about all the good things happening to other Planeteers. Last (but oh so not least) having Friday off which makes a four day weekend! :happyjump: Katniss~~(life is always good, sometimes you just have to dig around to find it) |

I was cleaning, sorting, and packing, and found my old journal from when I was 19 and living in SF. Oh boy memories! It's filled with butches phone numbers scribbled in lipliner because apparently I couldn't carry a damn pen with me, and little tidbits like "Call xxwhoeverbutch- ACT NORMAL!" LOL oh 19...

So much has made me smile already and the day is still young...
A few reasons and in no particular order: The most delicious coffee...(missing one thing though...) BDP always makes me smile... The patio door is open filling my apartment with cool sweet Carolina morning air that's blending with the sage and incense I'm burning... My boss was in such a good mood yesterday...even though she has been somewhat irritable lately I love working for her... I have a 4 day weekend and a holiday that I'm getting paid for!! The beautiful flowers atop my entertainment center... Frogs, possums, the scent of CK One... Finally having WiFi restored at home so I can use my laptop again instead of my iPhone... Reconnecting with a former colleague yesterday... My body...a significant decrease in the pain and stiffness that gradually set in last summer...ongoing weight loss...having more "thin days" than not... Video of the elderly woman in Oklahoma who was reunited with her dog after the tornado (actually that made me cry too)... My rocks and crystals... |

after an extremely bad day yesterdaywas treated to the most beautiful thing. After taking Alix to work I came home to find that our neighbors who moved out had indeed left their sweet little black kitten. It was hovering on a wet doorstep waiting to be let in. One person is still there but he refuses to let the poor kitty in.
So I had an idea. I went to the closet and got Peppas old dog crate and put it together without the door. Added two warm towels inside and covered with a folded sheet to keep the damp out. Set a small bowl of milk by it. After only a few seconds the kitty came over to drink the milk. Then she sniffed around the crate and finally walked in. After about a min she stuck her head out to finishh drinking the milk then went back inside. It warmed my heart so much that such a simple thing as an old dog crate and some old towels can make a huge difference. I smiled as I gentle closed the door and went inside my warm apt to my pups |
Oh were to start on my smile for today.......waking up and my first thought being about her. Reading a email from her. Texting her until she has a moment to speak to me. The way we are talking and getting to know each other and not falling into our old behaviors. The way she gets me. The way I feel like we have known each other for a long time even though it's only been a short time. The way she gets me and is helping me to become a better man.
