Booking my trip to Georgia in a few weeks for my aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary. It will basically be a family reunion with some people I haven't seen in many, many, many years.

I smiled and bout got teary when out if no where I got a message/text from someone unexpected telling me how proud they were that I survived this year (refer to Educators with Pride). Stated - not only did I survive - but worked miracles! Not sure about that, but I do know I don't quit nor give up!

Sharing disco videos from the '70s with a high school friend via our iPhones while I ran errands, got caught in a beautiful rainstorm, nails, hair... it just made it all so fun today! I'm still singing them in my head & smiling.

An overabundance of smiles but a tiny sampling........
Early morning archery instruction.
Gorgeous weather with a perfect blue sky, warm sun and light breeze making for pleasant gardening endeavors. The easy conversation amongst friends, shared laughter and stuffing ourselves silly with stone crab claws and shrimp. Completing the most onerous part of an art project. Sitting on the screened porch and watching the sunlight shine through the leaves in the trees creating a translucent emerald green. Finally ordering a traveling chess set that I have had on my wish list. (Fierce Knight Staunton~ Ebony and boxwood with walnut case) And the coup de gras....the peace I felt as the sunlight slipped from sight and the soft Southern night enveloped the garden...and a Great Horned owl flew into the backyard and and landed with nary a sound in the top of the tallest pine where it commenced to hoot and call a welcome to the night. Katniss~~(not to mention a hot jetted bath with lavender scented Epsom salt in my near future....bit too much gardening for one day.) |
Took mom grocery shopping....for someone who can't walk so good, she practically ran circles around me in that store today! Was just shaking my head and grinnin'...too funny!!

A set of twins in my hometown that I grew up with are always heckling each other on facebook. Today they had a wedding and reception and apparently had a little bit too much to drink. One posted a pic of the other and she has flaming red hair and looks like Raggedy Ann. I knew it was just another of their antics and of course I had to join in. It was funny stuff. Haahaa!!

I just realized that my post never went through from earlier.......
Staying up to 2:30 in the morning on the phone with her because we can't say good night. Being able to talk to her about anything. Learning things from each other and about each other. Knowing that she gets me better than anyone else ever has. Knowing that she wants to make me happy. Being able to find the courage to sing a song a wrote to her. Just her.....everything about her. |
while taking a very hot, soaking bath with refreshing peppermint soap..having a big bowl of strawberry cheesecake ice cream ...spooning it from a bowl propped on my washcloth over my belly ...laying back in the deep hot water ...then finding little bits of real cheesecake ...YUM

Finding all 3 geocaches I looked for today.

Watching my little girl make friends with a big snail she called Billie then changed it to Milly. Making it a home on one of my dinner plates wiith leaves and stones and a tiny snail bath / plastic lid. Putting it in the shade cos I said they don't like sun. Picking it up and taking it on an adventure because I said maybe that was why it kept trying to get off the plate. Eventually I came out to find her crying real tears because she had let it go and was watching it snailing away from the home she had made it...
Then the neighbour came out and started putting down slug pellets just a few feet away from where we were, talking to her husband about it - so glad my little girl didn't hear or understand. Why do people have to grow up. They are so much better when they are 6. |
He is that much closer to being back here! Yay!

ok... it actually made me lmao... my cat ran face first into the window... i suppose thinking she was going to get the bird... on the otherside... poor thing went... *THUMP*... and still tried to get the bird...

What made me smile today was something rather silly: My pups ear art this morning. Being a beagle/dach she has somewhat long ears. It is amazing what happens with them when she sleeps. Haahaa!! It is like the human version of bedhead. *Smiles.

This actually happened yesterday. I was driving one of the back roads and going around a curve and there in the middle of the road were a mommy and a daddy Canadian goose and their little baby gosling. The part that made me smile was the red winged black bird that was scooting them all off the road. He was pushing at the dad goose to push him off the road so that the others would follow. I stopped of course, and waited for them to make their way off the road. It was so amazing to see that happen! I was with my friend and we both just sat there shocked at what we just witnessed.

Staying up until 2 talking to her because it is hard to say goodbye. Texting her when I woke to make sure she was awake. Knowing she is thinking of me even though she is busy today. Getting a miss you text from her. Looking forward to talking to her tonight.

One of our critical care docs were sitting at the desk with my coworkers talking and looks at me and says " Blake, Why do you have a grin as if you did something anry ?" I said well.... Youre pt may or may not rip his ETT out in ohhhh 5 seconda bc he may have broken out of his restraints. All my coworkers cracked up. She said " well S?+% Blake did you turn off his fentanyl , versed , and propofol then " I said uhhhh yes which is Why he now self extubated :) Doc says " rock on Blake , sooo you want me to move him to the floor later huh "? I said uh no, i want you to fill out his AMA papers so he can walk out the door in im betting 10 minutes :) Doc says " no way he will leave " I said , want to bet me a hundred bucks ???? Doc says " youre on " 10 mins EXACTLY, my pt screams out " im F?+&%#$ leavin if you dont let me smoke now G0# d!@#$+ We all cracked up , She shuffles in her purse and pulls out 2 fifties :) |

Waking up and calling her before I had finished my first cup of coffee. Her letting me know that I am in control. Sharing an intimate part of both of us last night and still being there today. Neither of us running away from disclosure. Listening to a speaker this morning knowing that would bring us closer. Knowing she is on the phone right now and has mentioned me at least once.

Waking up to the sun shining. Picking up seed potatoes from a friend, painting my display racks and sitting in the sun with my lap top. It's only 11 am and I have been productive out here in the sun.
