Now I admit...I was raised in the south, moved up north for many years, was a girl scout in.elementary school because mom was the "leader"...then moved back south....in all my travels I have never heard of "hamburger girl scout soup"....
I thought girl scouts sold cookies...for some strange reason I now have an image of a Troupe of Scouts going door to door in their "Beef on Wheels" or Burger in a Van" food truck.

Suddenly I'm not very hungry ...

well...roomie's girl scout soup was yummy with a p.b & j sandwich...but I just had to take a tummy pill...

WingsOnFire 01-24-2014 10:57 PM

Plans changed.. mac n cheese is an old favorite standby that the roommate had made just as I was getting home!

The last quarter of a Costco bbq chicken (best chicken deal there is), chopped up into some boxed chicken broth with a can of mushrooms tossed in and a few packs of soya sauce ( from some long ago Chinese food takeout) . Wasn't too bad. Maybe one day I'll combine all my "classic" recipes into a book called " Food for People Who Can Barely Be Bothered to Cook".

Sweet Bliss 01-25-2014 02:26 AM

bran cereal

KayCee 01-25-2014 06:12 AM

Baked two loaves of bread yesterday. One with whole grain flour and sunflower seeds, the other one was Ciabatta bread with raisins and chopped walnuts...mmm..so good!:eating:

Will do Miss Collette! Though you'll probably have to defrost it first :cold:

Sweet Bliss 01-25-2014 09:20 PM

Made my kicking beef tips with mushrooms, smashed taters special.

Roomie whines several times "when is it gonna be ready?"

Smelling it cooking is part of the torture process don't cha know ...

I replied "This isn't Mcdonald's ya know!"

Food made with love is not served through a window.

I defrost everything. Screw the Cotton Ginny. The microwave is the greatest invention EVER!

Kobi 01-25-2014 10:52 PM

Lobster bisque and salad.

SF_Boi 01-25-2014 11:07 PM

Left Overs

i went to a ranchers meeting / classes last night and they served prime rib for dinner. The meat was from a local rancher and it was great! I had left overs because they gave me a huge portion. I baked up potato, steamed some kale and a glass of CA red wine. Yummy!

Happyfemme 01-26-2014 01:40 PM

Chicken in white sauce, roasted potatoes and corn

Kobi 01-26-2014 02:12 PM

Butterbeans suggestion for braised short ribs over polenta was too good to pass up.

The ribs are in the oven. I will not be the one making the polenta seeing the last time I tried, the stove and entire kitchen looked like a science experiment gone bad.

Daktari 01-26-2014 02:32 PM

A left-overs floor picnic of good bread, good cheeses, olives, pickles and aioli

Chancie 01-26-2014 02:43 PM

In my crockpot!

There's boneless, skinless chicken thighs, one quarter cup of soy sauce, one half cup of apple cider vinegar, a bag of frozen diced onions, and a can of pineapple cubes in juice.

Pete might want rice, and I'll steam a mountain of broccoli.
