Well, it's been a short summer at the tip of Lake Michigan here in Indiana. We did'nt even get into the 100's and only had a few weeks in the 90's.The leaves have already started to fall a lil bit and it's a lil bit cooler already!

Dominique 08-19-2011 08:10 AM

SEVERE storm just blew in, the weather man said it was going to miss us. It's very dark out and lots and lots of thunder and lightning.

We need the rain. We are almost 4 inches behind. That's alot when you consider, we average 1 inch of rain a month. The ground is very hard, and this kind of heavy down pour, the rain rolls right off.

One good thing, at least thus far, no high winds.

Rockinonahigh 08-19-2011 11:06 AM

Yesterday it was 106 so I dont have a clue about the heet index, today and for the next week its suposed to be as hot.Last night parts of town got some rain but all I got was wind and clouds...better than nothing.

diamondrose 08-19-2011 11:12 AM

ruffryder 08-19-2011 11:40 AM

So, I spoke too soon. Another storm kicked up...this time high winds, thunder, lightning and heavy heavy downpours. 1000's with out power including All of our major hospitals. Because it has been so hot, and so dry.....our soil has been hardened (like infields of ballfields) and over an inch of rain fell in an hour. We really needed that water, but it rolled off, over flowed everything, and flash flooding occurred. Storms were slow moving and just now, reports are coming in of people trapped inside their vehicals . Doppler shows two more storms heating up.

We've not really had a summer at all except the past two weeks we had lots of lovely sunshine! Wish I could say we had 'no wind, no rain,' but even today we have pearly gray skies, some misting here and there and gentle winds caressing the pine trees outside. We have what I think is typically called 'kissing weather.' Not too hot, not too cold, but just right.

High: maybe upper 60s
Low: possibly lower 50s

:kissy:

MsTinkerbelly 08-30-2011 02:25 PM

It will probably be around 80 degrees today, down to 62 tonight. We have been pretty much at this same temp all summer.

Guy 08-30-2011 03:08 PM
