The people I volunteer for at the hospital wanted to see them, so I took them up today when I went to work. Evidently, they told someone about it and she came to see me and bought the Asian~themed one on the spot!!! I was floored.

I think the surprise lies in the fact that this particular canvas was just the 5th one I had made! Don't worry.....I took her money. :eyebat:

nycfem 01-01-2011 06:36 AM

That's so cool!!! And she's the lucky one- your Asian themed piece is gorgeous! I have a fondness for Asian themed art and your work stayed with me (in my mind, I mean!). Get that Etsy store up! :)

My goodness! Life is good!
I sold another piece! It's called "JAVA" (in the Gallery).
I also got a commission to do a larger piece!!!

Also, in the Gallery, I posted the beginnings of my latest piece called "DEAL"...hee hee (the girl's holding cards)

Yeah.....Etsy's callin' my name!

They are great Diva. :artist: I wanted the Morning Coffee one. :mohawk:Goooooood stuff. Love the Asian theme one too. I still have the Corset with Asian wirting you did for a project. It holds a special place on a glass display shelf in my Guest Bathroom.
CONGRATULATIONS ON THIS NEW ADVENTURE.

Oh wow! I had almost forgotten about those corset cards I made! That was a fun project! Thank You, Tommi!!

Ok....after consultation with my Sissy ~ ShariBerry ~ she suggested I use "Twirly Girl" somehow. (When I painted a lot of pottery, I had a Twirly Girl series...someone got my Twirly Girl margarita glass at the Reunion!) So....my Etsy store will be called: Twirly Girl Art

:eyebat:

Diva 01-06-2011 08:50 PM

I've posted the beginning stage of the commissioned piece.....um...yeah....there's a theme. :eyebat:

And the 3D part of it goes on next and it is going to be my favorite thing ever, I think! I might have to do another one similar!

I love corrugated cardboard, wire and sharp instruments....just sayin'....

Diva 01-07-2011 08:25 AM

I've posted stage 2. I think I might call it "Black & Blue", yet that seems so obvious a title, I'm not sure it's fitting.....

Heartwired (like "hot wired") is jumping out at me, too....whadaya think?

Diva 01-07-2011 09:32 AM

Stage 3 is posted....thanks for the feedback, Jenn!
Heartwired, it is!

Hate is such a STRONG word.....

Yes.

But I'm over it now cuz that means I'm eventually going to get crafty goodness from you.

I'm super interested in your winter altered art journal. Does it have leaf impressions or clear or irridescent glitter for snow? Inquiring minds...

P.S.~I live very close to the wrangler. Ha! I have something awesome too! :cheer:

for the journal I started with this
http://www.ohmycrafts.com/tattered-a...-memories.aspx
only I got it at the tattered angels web site for 19.95
and I have a lot of white/silver/shades of blue/and shades of purple stuff
and am doing the whole thing in a winter theme
maybe I will post pictures on FB when I am done

You are lucky you have so many friends so close. We don't. We are happy Lionpaw moved here so we have friends that are nice!

Well, if you moved to AUSTIN (and brought lionpaw with you), you'd have MORE crafty friends near by. :cheesy:

P.S.~The journal looks lovely. I'd love to see pics when you are finished, so please let me know if you post them on fb.

I will do that!

I lived in bryan/college station TX for one year when I was 18-19

I visited san antionio tx when I was 14

I was stationed at fort sam huston tx for 10 weeks for army reserve training

here are some of my thoughts:

I did not know they could grow bugs that big
your bugs never die
Me and Fire ants are not friends
in any way shape or form
Fire ants don't die
they do bite
I do get sick
it isn't fun
why don't you all learn to drive in the snow?
seriously:|
if it makes you feel better
I went to Florida once and didn't like it there either

Maybe we can all move to WA?

Less snow, very few bugs.

Beautiful mountain ranges.

Green EVERYWHERE.

When you say "we", I know you're not speaking of ME.

I have visited WA. It's lovely. But no.

Ami....You were in all the wrong towns! ;)
You come to Austin, sis, I'll show You & The Corkscrew a good time! ;) Austin is amazing....

And by the by....I learned how to drive in snow and ice in VA....but You're right about THAT.....one snowflake and these guys flake right out! I have learned to stay off the roads when we get the rare snowfall.....I'm safer that way! :)

Diva 01-10-2011 09:27 AM

YEA!

My idea for the Heartless dealio came to me in a vision....I think You're gonna like 'em! I sent a picture of one (they're all basically the same) to a non~participant and it brought tears to her eyes.....

It's allergy season, after all. :eyebat:
