I am visiting my mom today. She made a German dish called rouladen. Its thin beef rolled up with bacon, onion, and mustard simmered in a brown gravy sauce. My mom made German dumplings and red cabbage to go along. The meal was very good. :)

nycfem 02-10-2014 07:58 PM

Breakfasty dinner:

Bowl kamut puffs (like cereal) with soy milk and cinnamon and banana

two strips of Facon (vegetarian/fake bacon) dipped in ketchup (kinda weird I know... I'm one of those people who likes ketchup on their ketchup)

nycfem 02-10-2014 08:03 PM

My grandmother used to make this dish she called Schwaki casserole that we all liked. It was like lasagna with layers of ground beef, tomato sauce, and bacon and cheese on top. Total yum! It's funny how strong food memories from childhood are.

Went to Costco today and bought some steaks. Each one is about 3 inches thick and the size of Lake Michigan. They wont sell you just one so I now have 3 massive steaks with a total weight of about 40 lbs.

Sweet Bliss 02-10-2014 09:09 PM

Weirdest enchiladas EVER.

BUT... I was inspired. and hungry. and lacking transportation.

Gotta find Mexican grocery store. SOON. :fastdraq:

Just because I know you are all left hanging:

I had salad with honey mustard dressing and eggplant parmesan with ziti made courtesy of the local Italian restaurant.

Canela 02-11-2014 12:48 AM

First time at Chipotle Grill! YUM!

I had a really delish burrito from Chipotle Grill!

It had carnitas (pork) and chicken, pico de gallo, brown rice, beans, guacamole and lettuce and shredded white cheese, all wrapped up in a flour tortilla.

I think it is a pretty healthy balanced meal. I mean it's got protein, veggies, dairy, bread, and an ice cold coke to wash it all down...lol...okay so the coke might not be so healthy...

It was so huge I ate less than half of it! And I don't mind telling you I really did try!

I think I like it better than FreeBirds!

stargazingboi 02-11-2014 09:00 AM

chicken tacos and chips
