"Loretta, I love you.
Not like they told you love is, and I didn't know this either, love don't make things nice...it ruins everything. It breaks your heart. It makes things a mess. We aren't here to make things perfect. The snowflakes are perfect. The stars are perfect. Not us. Not us! We are here to ruin ourselves, to break ourselves, and to love the wrong people and to die... Now, I want you to come upstairs with me and get into my bed." ~R. Commareri...from Moonstruck |

Kathyrn Muskyns - I don't want to love you anxiously
I don’t want to love you anxiously, Because I’m afraid of being lonely, I want to love you bravely, And be there for you, as you are for me. I want to love you fiercely, Knowing that we’re here, not because we have to be, Knowing I’ll be just fine without you, and you without me, Wishing you the best, whatever that may be. I don’t want to love you shyly, From behind all these veils of pretending to be, I want to love you with trust and candor and honesty, I don’t want to love you perfectly, Because perfect is something I’ll never be. I don’t want to love you unfairly, With expectations of who you should be to me. I want to love you confidently, Knowing that if we part we can still be, Happy for one another and free. I want to love you selflessly, And so I must love myself a bit selfishly, Take some of my love and keep it for me, I need to love me courageously, Because then I won’t need to love you anxiously. http://scontent-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...13202112_n.jpg |

Real life is imperfect and shows differences and variety, characteristics which are not favored in monocultures. The coveted perfect life is a created standard, which is purposely unattainable. The deceptive, glossy media images of faces, bodies and social lifestyles, make us hate ourselves so we will buy a solution to love ourselves once again. The conditioning advertisements make us ashamed of our blemishes, imperfections and flaws, but these so-called flaws are really our strengths and gifts. These images, idols and fixations on conformity and unattainable perfection make us illusion-prisoners. The very brands that promise us relief and personal freedom deliver the opposite of freedom; instead turning us into material junkies. They are using us, and in the process convince us to trade our originality and personal freedom for lives of economic slavery and dependency. — Bryant McGill |

“Creativity is essentially a lonely art.
An even lonelier struggle. To some a blessing. To others a curse. It is in reality the ability to reach inside yourself and drag forth from your very soul an idea.” ~ Lou Dorfsman |
“Let’s clear one thing up:
Introverts do not hate small talk because we dislike people. We hate small talk because we hate the barrier it creates between people.” ~ Laurie Helgoe |
You may think I’m small, but I have a universe inside my mind.” ~Yoko Ono

Don't make the mistake of thinking that you have to agree with people and their beliefs to defend them from injustice. — Bryant McGill |

Missing someone isn't about how long it has been since you've seen them or the amount of time since you've talked. It's about that very moment when you're doing something and wishing they were right there with you. —Anonymous
