Way to go TEXAS WOOOO HOOO I am so glad we won game 1 now Im hoping we win Game 2 Tonight :)

macele 10-09-2011 08:03 AM

i hate that about d. young. he surely will be missed.

i missed a lot of the game too. with the rain delays and all.

the yankees game had to have worn the tigers down a bit.
and when your adrenaline is so high like that, ...
it's like, o man what a relief, we just beat the yankees!
tigers may have let up a bit ...
gonna have to recharge.

the tigers bats just didn't seem to be smart.
i just feel they didn't jump on cj wilson's pitches soon enough.
gave him too much slack.

the rain delays played a part. a little luck there for wilson.

Yes, the rain delays made me bonkers. Thankfully, my sister is visiting this weekend and we played cards during the delays.

Come on, TIGERS!!!

Starbuck 10-09-2011 04:42 PM

Way to go Rangers! What Tigers fans need to recognize is that CJ Wilson has pitched like that all season, and last year; rain had nothing to do with it. :) This is going to be an interesting series to say the least!

I apprecate these kinds of tid bits. I really only know baseball National League. Remember, any team but the BREWERS!

macele 10-09-2011 07:11 PM

as a whole, no ... the rain delay didn't decide the games score.
but it felt like to me, in the top of the 5th, ... cj wilson caught a break.
i wanted b. inge to bat ... no rain delay lol. i felt like he could get to wilson.
inge came back after the delay, hard grounded out to 3rd, wilson pitching.
just seemed like the rain may have broke up inge's at bat.
i'm digging for anything that might get detroit a win LOL.

detroit didn't finish wilson off in the top of 1, top of 2, top of 5, ...
detroit had their chances. but wilson beat them, bottom line.

texas is like the yankees, top to bottom of line up, a pitcher can't let up.
great bats. but they didn't have the best pitching unit (top 5) during the season.
same thing can be said about detroit.
say the san francisco giants, ... much better pitching as a whole. but bats just couldn't seal the deal.
texas bats elevated, pushed them over the top.

I hate not having a game today. I will be at work tomorrow and not be able to see it :) LOL GO RANGERS!!!!!!

AtLast 10-10-2011 02:28 AM

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR..... these rain delays suck! Todays game moved entirely. No, can't do much about this, but I was looking foreward to the game!! Phooey!!!

Brewers beat the Cards 9 to 6. The Brewers had an unbelievable home record (thank you google) of 57-24 and I hope this will not carry into post season or my wish will not come true. Prince Fielder had another home run, but was later hit by a pitch. The umpire issued a warning to both benches.

Come on Cards! You beat the 104 wins Phillies. Please beat these Brewers.:praying:

Prince Fielder can really knock 'em in. And despite being on the husky side for a ball player, he sure can move too. I had him on my fantasy team a couple times and he comes in very handy!

macele 10-11-2011 12:27 AM

i don't usually use mannerless words in public LOL, ...
but i am thoroughly pissed off.
these tigers are just not aggressive enough at the plate for me.
these guys need to always be ready to jump on that first pitch.
they just can't afford to let it go by when a pitcher can from that point ... set them up.
that's it, just pitching it to location location location ... after that pretty first pitch fast ball.
or am i dreaming? the tigers 0-2? can't be! lol

great pitching by the rangers.

i'm with milwaukee on the national side. r. weeks was safe at first!

Tigers are down 2-0 now. They are looking tired and worn out. Meanwhile Texas is looking invigorated and focused. The starting pitching seems fairly equal but the Rangers have the edge in the bullpen.

Cards did a super job beating the Brewers last night. Feels like they have hit their stride again. I think they might actually be believing in themselves!

Good stuff!

OMG Albert Pujols as I know him. A human hitting machine. He was 4 for 5 with 5 RBI's. and scored three runs himself.
1 homer and three Doubles.

Fielder, for the Brewers, hit ANOTHER home run! The Cards will go to their home field for a few games on wednesday.
Series tied at one a piece. That was batting practice for both teams.

Starbuck 10-11-2011 11:35 PM

Well shoot, the Rangers fell to the Tigers tonight 5-2 in Detroit. I'm sure Detroit fans enjoyed seeing their team win a game at home.

Texas leads the series 2-1.

Hey- I'm really glad you joined in! I love having true baseball fans to talk with about the game and our teams and now the playoffs. It is really fun!

I was on pins and needles today with the Tigers and Rangers game. When Texas had enough on base in the 9th to get it into another tie. After the prior game, I was nervous!!

Kelz 10-12-2011 07:06 PM

Go Tigers! :) 3-3 top of the 8th. I enjoy baseball but postseason I absolutely love!

Hack 10-12-2011 07:44 PM

Love my Tigers. They are playing banged up and battered. Gutting it out. And these games have been so intense I can barely watch!

Kobi 10-12-2011 10:19 PM

Tigers are now down 3-1. These games are tough to watch. Just when you think the tigers have pulled it together, they turn into the Red Sox and flub it.
(I am a Red Sox fan, I can say that.)

Tomorrow brings Verlander against Wilson - hopefully no rain delay to mess up the pitching.

The Cards are now up 2-1. Who would have thunk. Woohoo one of my preferred teams might get in this year.

Tomorrow is Wolf vs Lohse.
