I once let an adorable little girl - that had "challenges" - paint my finger nails all kinds of funky bright colors...some even had 3 different colors that CLASHED..., just so we could get her to talk and open up enough to interact with people around her. (I never paint my finger nails, but couldn't resist her wanting to "show" me how she wanted me to paint her's...but she wouldn't express it verbally.)

When I was 3-6 years old...my step dad called me "Squirrel"

I have slight nerve damage on the right side of my face... makes me shy to smile because my smile is lopsided and I HATE to have my picture taken.

I HATE onions!! (people always make fun of me for that one)

I used to hang my little sister's Barbie dolls on the clothes line...and snicker when she was too short to reach them, but would climb like a monkey to get them down. Trust me, she got paybacks. She and I both have MEAN right crosses!!

Enchantress 06-04-2010 04:53 PM

This, that and the other.

I have an obsession with caprese salad

I almost always think that I've left my purse on top of the car. I Panic first and then realize that it is in the back seat where I usually place it. Sometimes if I'm on a road trip and I've stopped to walk Lulu, I panic thinking that I've accidently left her behind (until I see her in her carrier that is). I'm working on squelching the panic and using critical thinking skills first. Uh huh. :|

I love rocks. I love to collect them, look at them and display them (I'm pretty sure this makes me a nerd). They are considered a "metal" element in Feng Shui.

I have cordless telephones but strangely I prefer an old fashioned princess style phone with a fifty foot long cord. When I first bought the cord I worried that Lulu would become entangled when I walked around. Luckily she has learned to stay a few paces in front of me to avoid danger!

I have the strangest desire sometimes to play with Barbies (don't judge). It doesn't seem fair that little girls get to have all the fun.

Rockinonahigh 06-05-2010 09:40 AM

lets see what I can say this early morning, for me anyway.

Im an old softie but not someone that can be walked over very easly.

Love to cuddle in the easy chair wih my fur kids,we three often fall asleep in the thing.

Enjoy siting outside at night just looking at the stars and watching fireflys.

Love roasting marshmallows over a camp fire till they are burnt and really good.

Would love to walk on a sandy beach just doing nothing else at all .

Soon 06-05-2010 09:46 AM

I'm watching Shear Genius

I need an icy Diet Coke Big Gulp very soon

I'm battling my yearly beginning of summer cold--achoo!

I miss certain people every day.

I'm sick of thinking of what I should have said AFTER the moment has passed.

apretty 06-05-2010 08:50 PM

as a girl i took piano lessons.

my dad's nickname for me was 'little lulu'

i miss my grandma

i never answer my phone. once i had 3 months of voicemails that took me a half-hour to get through.

watching the family guy on dvr totally relaxes me. (ez doesn't get the appeal.)

Jet 06-05-2010 09:06 PM

I wear an initial ring that my father gave me.
It's become a trademark; people always ask me where I got it.

Once I lost it for 6 months and it about made me crazy.

I'm one of 3 people on earth without a tattoo.

When I move, I want an art room with 3 model airplanes from WWII suspended from the ceiling.

I have vertigo/height issues so bad I can't look out a glass elevator without
getting dizzy. Escalators go without saying....
(I think it stems from dad rocking the seat on the ferris wheel when I was little..)

Lynn 06-05-2010 09:13 PM

I only get manicures and pedicures a few times a year, including today. My favorite color is OPI Hawaiian Orchid, a sheer pink neutral. I got married in it in 1985, and I haven't found a better color since.

The most relaxing thing I can think of is spending time in the woods. Love a cup of coffee on a breezy evening, sitting on the porch of a cabin.

I tried on my summer clothes today and found that some of them are fitting better than they did last year. Yay for Weight Watchers!

I have to get up at 4am so I can take a train to NYC. I hate the idea of getting up so early, and equally hate the idea of trying to sleep.

I'm going to eat a cup of low fat ice cream with cut up cake (no fat), blueberries, strawberries, and cool whip. All on the diet. Wahoo!

~ In the 7th grade, one of my classmates tapped me on the shoulder in English and told me I had put my dress on wrong~side~out.

I will never forget the embarrassment. It was white with pink polka~dots.

♦ in my mid teens...to appease my girl, I allowed acrylic nails on my left hand only, to make it "fun" she told me I should pick a fancy design for it...she suggested a cherry tree, I told her I'd happily scratch her to death if I got PINK anything...so...the manicurist suggested a "fire" type..which I liked  [i was 'in the closet' !!], however...it's a HUGE weakness of mine when a Femme wears 'em nowadays, the more elaborate, the quicker I'll act like a fly to blue light "so prettyyyyy -ZAP-" :rrose:.....

♦ since Im successfully raising a baby Sparrow {So far}, I'm considering a Sparrow tat *Alongside ferret Ink*....

♦ I try my best to be Gluten-Free, Organic, pescetarian, Locavore....Not because I'm allergic or an Animal Rights Fanatic{or stuck-up}....Mostly because it's Healthy, and Fresh, which pretty much means if I cant find it in any of the above categories, I wont go apeshit or wind up sick...Just disappointed.

♦ Like Jet, I have bad Vertigo...Glass elevators are a big No-No...I'll barf from such dizzyness....Escalators are ok, as long as I focus on my feet....Anything above 2nd floor will trigger dizziness, hypervent, and nausea...Oddly enuff aeroplanes dont do that...
{I honestly believe it started after I bungee Jumped on my 18th birthday....Watching the river fast approach, then thinking I'm gonna splatter against the Bridge can make a tough Butch cry....My cousin had fun with the video, I had nightmares :blink: }

♦ I refuse to enter "Haunted Houses" or FunHouses.... :passinggas:

1. Every person I have ever dated seriously and most everyone I've ever dated casually, I got to know 'online', right down to my very first boyfriend, when I was in high school. Though at that time 'online' was a local bulletin board reached via a dialup connection and only one person could be on the board at a time cuz it was run out of a guy's office. Also, back then, 'online' people often met in real life for regular "gt's" or "get-togethers". ;)

2. Speaking of meeting people online, I met my wife, not on a bf site, though we were both members, but via Neopets - a website designed for small children. This was a sign that we were off to an excellent start.

3. I'm both very open AND very shy (in person) which is an interesting combination because I am a terrible liar so when people ask me really personal questions, I tend to answer them truthfully and I can be bad at filtering. This is a good thing in that people usually know what I'm about and how close I am to them determines how much detail they get... but.. it can be a bit bad at times when I make myself too vulnerable to someone undeserving. Also.... it means I also embarass myself or get embarassed/shy easily and blush a lot.

4. When I first discovered the butch/femme online community, I used to get super tongue tied when any butch spoke to me at all - whether in chat or on the forums, though I'd have moments of bravery in those early days. I was absolutely drawn to and fascinated by the butches but seriously, knee-weak responses to like all of them! :) The first butch I met in person (before the online community actually), I tried to say hello, stammered instead, tripped and almost fell in their lap - then fled tearfully, soooo embarrassing!

5. One of the first butches that I ever made friends with (in a chat room at another bf site) is now my Unka, and I asked him to give me away at my wedding (and he was also Sparx's 'best man', we used the term 'honored attendant' I think). He was the best Unka of the Bride ever and he helped make it one of the best days of my life - something I will never ever forget.

Okay, it's hot watching him golf, too.

Four is my limit today, I'm shy. Oh wait, that's five - nevermind.

I wish I could be a philosopher and be paid to think and teach about thinking

I have studied Latin off and on for years (since high school and all through college) I have not picked up anything in Latin for about 6 months, I can feel the language receding from my mind and this makes me unhappy.

Sometimes when the people who are dearest to me are unhappy (as they are now) I feel like I need to hide my perpetual joy, it seems rude in the face of their sorrow

About 4 times a year I reorganize my closet, everything is sorted by type and color dark to light and by length long to short. Other than when I organize my closet I let it gradually go to hell only to be corrected in my quarterly rearrange.

I rarely carry a purse; I have a small pocketbook with my money and various cards and carry my lipstick in my pocket.

(Bonus answer, I tend to only buy pants and skirts with pockets, no pocket it better be stunning to come home with me)

Ryobi 06-06-2010 11:10 PM

My stomach growls like it's hungry every time I smell a skunk.

I'm afraid of heights but, spend some work days clipped into a lifeline anywhere from 20 to 90 feet off the ground, walking on 2 inch truss pipe.

I was a drummer in school.

I played soccer for 15 years (outdoor), refed outdoor and played indoor for 4 more after that.

My left shoulder is 1/3 surgical steel.

Diva 06-06-2010 11:28 PM

~ I was a drum major in high school.

~ I made All-State Choir (as an Alto) 3 years in high school. (My choir director told me I could have made it my freshman year, too, but I didn't audition. I was the first one to make ASC from my hs)

~ Leonard Bernstein called me "Janey Pie" because I baked him a pecan pie when I worked with him in Houston.

~ I wrote my first piece of lesbian erotica when I was pregnant with my first child and married to a man. Hormones? <giggling>

~ I burned that piece of erotica in the wood~burning stove.....out of guilt.

I like to collect old, antique bottles and use them for candle holders.

I like snowflakes - the quiet stillness of the earth when it snows.

Christmas is my favorite holiday.

I'm deeply interested in architecture - the history of particular buildings, etc.

I am enchanted by mountains, canyons and the lone call of the train in the middle of the night.

Diva 06-07-2010 12:19 AM

2 + 3 .....for my 'stalker'...<giggling>

~ I'm going to get a pink retro bike.

~ My retro bike will possess a retro bell.

~ I love liver and onions.

~ I love accents....but I hate mine.

1. I went to a high school football game after a couple of beers. There was a cemetary up the hill from our stadium. As I was driving past it, a black cat jumped INTO my car. I yelled and tossed it back OUT of my car. Scared the bejeesus out of me.

2. Leonard Bernstein's death spurred a conversation in my first journalism class about euphamisms for death (which we're not allowed to use) ... you know, things like ...so and so "passed." After using a buch of them, we determined that the best one was "Jesus called."

3. I still have my 40th birthday cards out on my mantle ... two months later.

4. I'm sitting here watching Ron (Tater Salad) White. He's funny. So are Larry the Cable guy (Get 'er done!) , Bill (Here's your sign) Engvall and Jeff (You might be a Redneck) Foxworthy. I love good comedy.

5. I'm tired. Time to crash out.

I love those little "ding-ding" bells on bicycles!

*ditto* on liver and onions! I should make that tomorrow!

Your accent has to be beautiful - I have a lot of Texan's in my family - I'm partial to the Texan accent!
