Well there are a few things, but the one that stands out the most was getting my haircut. It was a great experience and I am still smiling, even on the inside.

Seeing my mother laugh really, really hard while Blue 'mimed' a couple of scenes from the movie W/we watched last night (Mental, with Toni Collette).

Hi,

Well as some of you know by now I do not like to grocery shop by myself because it is a reminder that I am single and alone.

Today I was shopping keeping a close eye one my list and not on the happy couples around me. I turned the corner to go down a new isle and a woman near my age and her friend were headed toward me so I looked up from my list and there she was looking right into my eyes. She gave me a sweet smile and said hello so I said hello back to her and smiled.

It was a good day at the grocery store today :).

My cat is currently laying in my lap with her chin resting on my kneecap (I just love it when she does that; it's almost like a hug) and purring away; she sounds like a tiny, yet loud motorcycle. Her eyes are closed and she is smiling. I really want to get up and go do something that needs doing, but I just can't bring myself to disturb her majesty, lol.

I have lots of reasons to smile today but the one I am posting is that it rained in Texas today :).

A friend was in town all day and I finally got to meet her new gf.

Nice to see my friend so happy.

A successful family visit that could have been stressful. Family that was "removed" before I was born, due to a divorce, who I met for the first time 12 years ago. Two of my cousins from that family are in the military and are visiting this week so I went to visit and meet their new babies. The family is very conservative, anti-obama, and other stuff I won't get into here. We'll just say that our politics really conflict. However, they are also kind, run a farm, have a lot of kids, etc. We had a nice visit. We kept conversation to neutral and communal territory of parenting, homeschooling, food, and family we have in common. I got to hold little babies who slept and cooed on my lap. Left with a smile.

Running into new coworkers at the grocery store today made me smile...
