If you take too long admiring it, Lucy will make sure you don't have to worry about eating it.

-spicy brown mustard, sauerkraut, and sauteed onions

-meat sauce, spicy brown mustard, and finely chopped onions

-cheddar cheese, meat sauce, and the spicy brown mustard

or just spicy brown mustard.

Enchantress 04-13-2010 11:23 PM

A Sabrett (all beef) dog please.
Place it in a deliciously soft, potato or Portugese roll (fresh from the bakery)
top it with mustard (yellow)
onions
and a nice relish.

I've even been known to splash a bit of kraut on top of it...

Mmmm mmmm good!

Diva thank you, you make me feel like it is safe to post

the perfect hot dog for me and about the only way I will eat one:
(I have been known to bring my own stuff to picnics)

1. hot dog has to be Smiths all beef skinless (they are local and they rock)
it has to be grilled on a grill or in a fry pan with a bit of butter
2. bun has to be New England style
they have to also be grilled on a grill or in butter in fry pan
3. Cheese 1.5 slices of Kraft deluxe american cheese
4. ketchup and yellow mustard

I won't eat a hot dog if I don't know the brand

And You're welcome!

Sybelle 04-14-2010 05:55 AM

Cheese, ketchup, chili and slaw

NJFemmie 04-14-2010 05:55 AM

Sabrett Hot Dogs were the shiznit when I was growing up. We would go to their "factory outlet" and buy in bulk for summer outings. Now, they deliver to your door! Sweeeeeet.

Ms. Tabitha 04-14-2010 06:17 AM

Depends if we are having Chili Dawgs or just "Hot Dogs"

The "Dogs" are always: Hebrew National OR Bratwurst
Lots O' Mustard, Purple Onion's, Relish or Purple Cabbage, Cheese and Lots O' Sauerkraut..
I steam the buns and.................. YUM!!!

I do NOT like Mayo OR Ketchup on my hot dog :eyebrow:

MsMerrick 04-14-2010 08:08 AM

I can't believe you didn't list Sauerkraut ! That and Mustard, Deli style.. is the way to eat a dawg. ;)
And a side of Papaya Drink, from Grey's Papaya..

Nina 04-14-2010 08:23 AM

not often...and not much of one when I do...

one constant:

Kosher Hot Dog....only, always, Only....

Its everything for me....smile

MsTinkerbelly 04-14-2010 08:45 AM

Either nothing, or lots of Best Foods(Hellman's) mayo....sigh....yumblicious!:cheer:

Enchantress 04-14-2010 09:04 AM

If you're curious and into something overwhelming...

Try an Italian dog from Dickey Dee's in Newark, New Jersey. They even have potatoes on them. It was a bit much for me, but if you're ever on the East Coast and searching for something different it's worth a knosh.

I believe I even took a picture of the wiener, as it was just that odd.

theoddz 04-14-2010 09:50 AM

Well, like Tabs posted, we eat either Hebrew National or Brats.

On MY "dawg", I love ketchup and mustard.....and saur kraut, when I can get it.

~Theo~ :bouquet:....loves dawgs!!! :D

Write14u 04-14-2010 09:54 AM

Y'all certainly aren't journalist because I'm here to tell you that we'll eat damn near anything free put in front of us at halftime of a game, and that includes hot dogs. *grin*

Now, that said, I prefer Nathan's please. Or Grey Papaya in NYC.

Not a fan of onions or relish, but almost anything else is fair game.
Typically, I'll eat my dog with mustard and kraut. I also like chili and cheese and love me some slaw dogs.

Oh yeah, I love any variety of brats or italian spicy meats, that kind of things.

The more mustard the better. Cleveland spicy brown stadium mustard might be the best ever.

Oh yeah baby! And if you're lucky to not get a stomach cramp - even better!
*chuckle*

Lynn 04-14-2010 10:11 AM

Directly because of this thread, we are having hot dogs tonight. Hebrew National and these amazing spicy chili dogs with cheese in them. Better than they sound. There will be plenty of spicy brown mustard and sauerkraut, and all the other stuff too, for the less refined. :)
