John Shaft has some 'splaining to do!!!

funkyfemme 10-07-2011 08:11 AM

Someone once called me a funky chick and I kinda liked it. I'm kinda rough around the edges and have a potty mouth....not really a lady in any way. LOL I have spikey hair and have an age inappropriate love of Chucks (I have all the colors they make). :heartbeat:

Anyhoo.....that's how I became FunkyFemme. :)

Scrappy L'il Southpaw 10-07-2011 09:17 AM

It was my first time in a Women's Boxing Fitness class (huminahumina). I'm a very quiet person, low key person until I'm comfortable around you. Plus, people meet me and seem to think I'm some kind of soft, weak, pushover. Until they try to push me in a way I am not going to go.

This is a true boxing class, not aerobic choreographed kick boxing. We jumped rope, did all the drills on the mat, and punched bags before we climbed into the boxing ring. Then the instructor gave us punch patterns and called us into the center randomly one by one. She'd change it up sometimes when you got there and you just followed. After my first time in she was already calling me southpaw, which didn't bother me. It's true. I consistently had strong solid punches. But once, I threw a hook that had her shaking her hand, she started calling me Scrappy Little Southpaw (I was also one of the shorter women in the class). I LOVED it. I use Scrappy on my softball shirt as well.

I think it fits me well!

Mine is easy ~ its My first name :D

A few days after switching I thought I should have gone with "Crank Shaft" so we could be related--my brother from another mutha.

Stupid crank shafts anyway. :( Back when I had a car, the crank shaft broke in HALF randomly one day.

I'm happy to say mine's never broken.

:sock:

betenoire 10-07-2011 11:19 AM

Now you're just talking dirty.

little_ms_sunshyne 10-07-2011 11:20 AM

I smile all the time...if Im sick, mad, sad, tired Im smiling anyway. When I have a bad day, you will find me cheering someone else up. I bake goodies to make people smile! So one day, this lady we will call her "negative nelly" was annoyed by my good mood and sarcastically said "Well arent you Little Miss Sunshine" it cracked me up so I took it!

Kätzchen 10-09-2011 10:02 AM

Kätzchen is German for "Kitten"

It's a nick name a dear friend in Berlin gave to me years ago.

cara 10-09-2011 12:31 PM

I'm not very creative when it comes to screen names. Cara is my given name. It's a family name and I adore it. I'm a seventh generation Cara. In Irish it means, "friend" and in Italian it means, "beloved." I've chosen to not capitalize my name because I identify as submissive. Sometimes I also get lazy and don't use capitols. Especially when I'm reading/typing from my phone.

:stillheart:

cara

grenade 10-09-2011 12:51 PM

A slang term from the Jersey Shore.

CockyDude 10-16-2011 05:44 PM

It's who I am

Cocky comes from confidence, strength, and vast understanding of that wonderful creature known as Her, Woman, Babygirl, Lover. She is to be protected, supported, led, taught, indulged and fulfilled to capacity. Her smiles, be them from pleasure or pain, are our responsibility. Not everyone can handle that; it takes a certain attitude, posture, dynamic. Those that don't possess those traits don't deserve that type of woman & she'd never be happy with less.

moxie 10-16-2011 10:13 PM

Mine came from the riot grrrl movement of the early 90s. I DJ'ed at the college radio station and we played a lot of the music. I am a quiet, shy and reserved person and my friends joked that I was the total opposite of all our friends and colleagues, plus I was straight edge, so they called me puregrrl and it stuck.

EmpressM 10-16-2011 11:34 PM

*wink wink*

Mine is actually a wink at my given name, which means lady of royalty and begins with M. It's also a very unique name that many often struggle to pronounce. I once had a supervisor that couldn't pronounce it, so he nicknamed me Empress and it just stuck and evolved. leFemme because I am very much a lady and a girly-girl!

Dominique 10-17-2011 09:46 AM

Yellow band= LiveSTRONG. It's about the promise I made to myself a decade ago, to clean up the way I was going through life. I wear the yellow band, with the words liveSTRONG facing towards me, to remind me,
that is a forever promise!

nekohl 10-17-2011 03:20 PM

nothing too deep here

My favorite professor in college used to spell my name Nekohl. Why I do not know, but I liked it and so it became my online name.
And this year I put it on my license plate :)

Okiebug61 10-17-2011 04:30 PM

I am an Okie I love to fish and their is a fishing lure called an Okiebug then 1961 is the year I was born hence Okiebug61

FemmeWriter 11-22-2011 06:08 PM

On other sites I used a pen name I'd come up with (Jasmine Blade), for the herb/flower I associated with and for sharpness and clarity, things I hoped would help in my writing career. When I found this site, it had been years since I'd been to a bf site and decided to grow a bit. I'd dumped the pen name years ago but I'm still a writer, still a femme. And there you have it. :)

ButchEire 11-22-2011 06:11 PM

I put a ton of thought into mine. I'm butch and i'm Irish.

nuff said.

ButchEire 11-22-2011 06:14 PM

Hey now, I was born and raised on the Jersey Shore and never once been called grenade. I'd have shot and stabbed anyone who ever had the balls to call me that..

err,nm.

My screen name from the old dash site was taken, so I used my old livejournal user name instead- it's one of my favorite MAC lipstick colors.

Point~Of~No~Return 11-22-2011 07:23 PM

Point of No return

My Name means I am not looking back I am going forward, stronger, harder, I am leaving all of the past where it belongs in the past. Those chapters have been closed and there's a new world, and vision in life that will soar always moving forward.

chai~ 11-22-2011 07:34 PM

my is just a fave decadent beverage!

Zimmeh 12-09-2011 08:48 AM

My original screenname for Yahoo is Zimmyglrl. A name, that I used when I joined the dash site in 2007 and one that I used when joined this site in 2009. I came up with the name, because I was a huge Marilyn Manson fan in the 1990's and the guitarist at the time was Zim Zum. When I went to the reunion this year, Medusa renamed me to Zimmeh, which was thought of in the middle of the night on Saturday after we all had been up for awhile. I guess it is from the TV show, South Park, when Cartman would yell, "Timmeh" and she changed the T to a Z. I no longer feel that Zimmyglrl is a good fit and I am actually enjoying it, so thank you Medusa!

Zimmeh

ladyhawkxx 12-09-2011 10:00 AM

LadyHawk

I love this column and thread - what a great idea!!! Some I know remember the movie "LadyHawk" made in early 1980 w/Michelle Pfeiffer (gorgeous, hot) and Rutger Hauer (friggin gorgeous, too, and yes, hot) and a young Michael Broderick (who marries Sara Jessica Parker later in life) who is adorable as "Mouse"... anyway - the love that endured even after a terrible curse has been placed on them for eternity - never touching, only passing and love still finds a way. Always Together and Never Apart. So, there ya go. Now, you know where my screen name comes from the Rest of the Story!

Honey 12-09-2011 11:11 AM

HONEYPIE

My very first butch bf gave me this name ( 16 yrs old)...You figure it out. P.S. I HATED it so hy called me HP unless hy wanted to get a rise out of me ! ( shortened to Honey )

Deirdre 12-09-2011 12:08 PM

In 1689, I was caught stealing bunnies from an old woman who lived down the lane from our cottage. She was a crass and wicked thing, and true to her nature placed a curse on me for the next 100 years, that I should take the form of a rabbit every fortnight, promptly at 8.

The tender-hearted people of my village, having taken pity on me (for I only wanted to love the rabbit, and care for it as if it were my own child), affectionately called me 'Deirdre-Bunny'.

Well, the name stuck, and 323 years later it still suits me, though the actual curse has long since past.

smouldering 12-09-2011 03:01 PM

Back in 2005 my now ex referred me to the "Dash" site to read a few threads hy thought would help me out and i couldn't think of a screen name... so we both thought for a while and hy came up with the name "Smouldering (Hy is British) because hy said that i smolder lol that my eyes are a deep blue and very expressive and therefore the name Smouldering was born and i've used it on these forums ever sense :) So not real fantastic, but its mine. :glasses:

Apocalipstic 12-09-2011 03:10 PM

I wanted soemthing that sounded fluffy, helpless and bland. :rrose:

Booorrrinnng.

Kind of like a lost sad sheep.

MsTinkerbelly 12-09-2011 03:26 PM

When I first found the dash site I was new to internet boards, and all of the women seemed to be named "Lady" something or other, so I chose "lady Cyn" which is part of my first name. Then after being around a while I realized I was no lady...LOL...and I wanted something light but with an edge. Tinker Belle is a naughty fairy, hense Tinkerbelly. I added the Ms. here at the Planet, as Tinkerbelly was already in use :|

TickledPink 12-09-2011 03:59 PM

My nickname was always Pink or Pinky. I'm a bubbly kinda' girl so I just tagged on Tickled to the Pink, and, there ya' have it. :jester:

tonaderspeisung 12-09-2011 06:07 PM

my screen name is an audio term for supplying power to a microphone

i chose it because i like the way it sounds and if you are not in germany it has an international air of mystery

but it is a pain to spell

jac 01-02-2012 06:28 AM

A few years back I took a Human Sexuality class and we had to come up with original names for the professor's website that related to sex talk. I had just discovered the term stone as pertaining to who I had been for many years. I mean I knew who I was and what I wanted but didn't know there was a name for it... and well, I was ready to play... hence the 4play. But the 4play is a play on words and can also be foreplay which... ehem.. I also like!! It was also my name on b-f...

KimbaYLRF 01-02-2012 07:14 AM

When I first started on the sites ten yrs ago Kimba was used to I added the y and lrf because I thought it would be unique.
