Wentworth, Thank you Anya for introducing me to this series

Mel C. 08-05-2016 09:39 AM

The 100 on Netflix because I heard there was a lesbian character. She seems more bisexual to me, but I get to see 2 females kissing so that still works in my book.

I am glad that you like it!

Can I say that the matron/warden scares the shit out of me!

Stranger Things

I am watching "A Walk in the Woods" on Amazon Prime starring "Nick Nolte and Robert Redford as two old friends who make the improbable decision to hike the 2,190 mile Appalachian Trail." Co-stars Emma Thompson.

From OSXDaily.com

Watch the Rio Olympics Live on iPad or iPhone

Want to watch live coverage of the Olympics? You can easily watch any of the 2016 Rio Olympic games and competitions live right from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch (or Android too, but we’re obviously focusing in iOS), meaning you can watch any game and any country and any sport you want, you don’t have to wait for the evening highlights. You don’t even need a cable TV package, any iOS device will do.

All you need to do to watch live footage of any current Rio Olympic games is to download the NBC Sports app. Anyone can then watch live footage of the 2016 Olympics from within the app, it’s that easy.

Get the NBC Sports app here from the iOS App Store

Just launch the NBC Sports app, go to the “Live and Upcoming” tab, and browse through the currently active games.

Thanks so much!

I had not read or seen anything about season 4, until I saw your post!

12 episodes, too!

Warden is sexy in a terrifying and mean kind of way. :scared:

Still Watching Queer as Folk (spoilers)

(Spoilers ahead!) So I have made it to season 5 of QAF. I had forgotten the episode where Babylon gets bombed. Everyone is running around trying to find their loved ones, Michael's going to the hospital in an ambulance, people are freaking out - and I realized, "This is what it must have been like in Orlando recently with the shooting at the gay nightclub."

In my last post about QAF, I noticed how much some things seem to have changed since that show was made, even though it's only been a short while. Now I'm feeling the opposite - things are still the same. There are still hateful, selfish people trying to take away our rights, and there are still people who want to kill us.

I won't ramble on, it's all been said before. But I wanted to say that I think QAF is still so very relevant to the LGBT community, both as a group and individually.

I think you are right Georgia!

I will always LOVE QAF.
Exposed Daisy to it for the first time last year.
But this morning, I fell asleep to Tiny House Hunters.

Stranger Things

Just binged the first season—eight episodes—of Stranger Things and it was excellent. Liked everything about it; the 80s time period, the casting, the storyline (even though I'm not keen on spook nor sci-fi), loved the "acrobat/flea" analogy, and the exploration of another dimension. Reminded me of other good films and tv shows. Good job by all.

Wondering what they'll come up with for season two.

Orema 09-10-2016 04:11 PM

Just starting Queen Sugar. Looks good.

Stone-Butch 09-10-2016 05:38 PM

watching on tv

just watched another episode of the killing of JonBenet Ramsey. Now the argument is weather it was the father or the son of a junk yard man, Michael Helgoth 26? I still say dad but wait to see what the brother says on Dr. Phil on Monday.

Liam 09-10-2016 06:47 PM

Blacklist jumped to the top of my list when Netflix added Season 3.

stargazingboi 09-10-2016 06:58 PM

I stumbled upon "Very British Problems" I may not be British but I can relate...gave me a good chuckle

*Anya* 09-10-2016 07:35 PM

Just finishing up season 2 of Narcos on Netflix.

It is really good. I read they gave the green light for seasons 3 and 4.

(Hope you are able to see the trailer. It keeps buffering for me.)

GeorgiaMa'am 09-10-2016 08:12 PM

I just finished season 12 of Grey's Anatomy. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get back into it for season 12, after having binged on the first 11 seasons this summer and then having a long break, but it was easy to get back into. Just like any soap opera, they give you plenty of "catch-up/reminder" scenes at the beginning of each show. I guess they have to with 12 seasons.

And season 12 was just as good as the first 11. Oh, it made me cry about every other episode! I don't even know why, but apparently I am just a sucker for Shonda Rhimes' worlds.

cork1961 09-10-2016 08:37 PM

Amazon...

One Mississippi... with Tig Notaro.

Love Tig, one of the funniest women on earth I think. Though this, so far, is pretty serious about her life these past few years.

Allison W 09-10-2016 09:12 PM

Streamed the latest episode of Steven Universe just last Thursday. This vine summed it up pretty well.

I don't know about Pearl being the lesbian icon of the Millennial generation, as some have suggested, but I can see the argument.

today's schoolchildren don't know how good they have it with their openly gay shows on Cartoon Network

C0LLETTE 09-10-2016 09:54 PM

Finally saw The Revenant. Once I figured out who was who and accepted that it would have that sappy ending, i was ok with it.

Jesse 09-10-2016 10:03 PM

I just finished watching, The Life and Crimes of Doris Payne on Netflix - "This documentary tells the unlikely true story of a woman in her 80s who spent her adult life as a jewel thief, and who might still be at it." Directed by Kirk Marcolina in 2013. She's a hoot!

C0LLETTE 09-10-2016 10:16 PM

Just so y'all know: we Canadians pay the same as Americans for Netflix and get half the number of choices . Some "distribution" fees bs. So if I post films you all saw 10 yrs ago, you'l know why.

Mel C. 09-10-2016 10:35 PM

I caught season 4 of Wentworth...the best season so far in my opinion.

cinnamongrrl 09-11-2016 05:30 AM

My youngest got me started watching Last Man on Earth. It's wicked funny. I watched it to be polite and ended up watching 3 episodes in a row!

aishah 09-12-2016 12:53 AM

my most recent netflix/hulu picks have been 8.22.63, the path, and i'm itching to watch more of wentworth and narcos! waiting for internet to be installed on wednesday.

stargazingboi 09-21-2016 03:46 PM

I just finished watching Ladyboys: Inside Thialand's Third Gender on Amazon Prime

There was only 3 episodes from season 2.

I wonder, since Thialand is so open to transgendered MTF I wonder if they are just as accepting of FTM. They don't discuss it on the show and I didn't see any during their travels..nor can I find much about it online. I did however, notice that they do both sex re-assignment surgeries there and many of the Ladyboys talked about how a lot of people go to Thialand for surgery.

Anyway, I do wish there was more to watch because I liked they way they presented the stories and discussed Gender Dysphoria. Something I can fully relate too.

Kelt 09-24-2016 09:16 PM

Stud_puppy1991 09-24-2016 09:26 PM

Lyte 09-24-2016 10:06 PM

Currently watching the following simultaneously...

Once Upon A Time <~ good for back ground noise while cleaning house. Cute.

Narco <~ wow, what an eye opener. Based on actual events. Lots of subtitles.

Penny Dreadful <~ just started this one today. I think it's similar to League of Extraordinary Gentlemen... but so far better.

C0LLETTE 09-24-2016 11:03 PM

Watched Marseilles with Gerard Depardieu ... then on to Narcos. Season one done and now on to season 2 ... Amazing how entertained you can be when you turn off CNN.

Mel C. 09-24-2016 11:43 PM

Season 1 of Transparent....good enough to make me want to watch season 2.

Tucker 09-25-2016 12:34 AM

Take it slow

Season 3 of transparent just came out so I have been glued to it.
I am also madly in love with scream queens and Hulu has the new episodes.

I watched Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell season 1

Liam 09-25-2016 05:02 PM

Longmire Season 5 arrived, and I've really missed Walt, Vic and Henry, so I've been pretty focused on getting caught up.

stargazingboi 09-27-2016 06:02 PM

I just finished the last season of Penny Dreadful. I did enjoy how they put this story together..season 3 was the final season...damn shame, but I appropriate when a story finishes strong instead of fading sadly..if you know what I mean.

JDeere 09-27-2016 06:09 PM

Finally I get to watch Grace and Frankie.

And a whole collection of Forensic Files.

GeorgiaMa'am 09-27-2016 06:41 PM

I just finished Season 6 of the The Walking Dead. What a cliffhanger! Argh!

stargazingboi 09-28-2016 04:22 PM

I'm a big documentary geek...So, today I watched "Vintage Tomorrow" which discusses the different sub-cultures of steampunk and the political roots of the steampunk movement.

I didn't know much about steampunk really, outside of the music that didn't appeal to me and the Victorian fusion with mechanical gears and sci-fi. I didn't realize how complex it is and I found myself relating to some of it on several different levels.
