Hi,
I just tried the link and it worked for me. The existing link has good info on it. I assume more is coming when they finish construction. Sounds like fun. Hope some of us will be able to get together there. I don't live there, but had a few of us spent an evening with Kat in Dunedin awhile ago, and I fell in love with the town. Not too many places in Florida have gay rights, but Dunedin is one of them. I'm glad they are having pride there to support the town that supports us!!! Smooches, Keri Kat :giggle: :gimmehug: :bunchflowers: |
Good Evening everyone. I did not check out the link yet--half lazy half bc i saw it wasnt finished yet--so perhaps once its all up and posted we could start from there...find some hotels...maybe get an idea how many are really interested in going..maybe call around and see if theres a hotel willing to cut a deal for a block of rooms---not that Kats invite wasnting "inviting" but i need my damn space..:)
i think i speak for Jo as well in saying we would like to make a weekend of it(leisurely one) a lil planning a lil fly by our seats..not for sure about others with kids...not sure if we would bring ours....all things that should be considered since i know Ms Snow and Grant will have Worm by then..and altho its a few months away but my experience with queer folk is its never too early to start planning :) |
Worm and Vickie (the teen baby girl:|) will be with us more than likely so leisurely works for me!

speak for urself..most kids like me..im the one that will say "dont tell your parents" then when the parents find out i say...i tried to tell them but they wouldnt listen to me :) i hope other weigh in on this..because we usually do take the boys with us whenever we go on little trips...however as far as i know we could leave them on their own for awhile and not worry that the hotel would burn down or the cops would be called.... |
Kids will be fine. If it weren't so late in season we could watch a blue jays games which the kids might like but I think season will be over.
|
Vickie is 17 Worm 11 by then...
We could go for a drink and leave them for a couple hours, I trust they can behave for that long without no authorities or FBI being alerted! |
So anyone want to join me for the 97x backyard barbeque on Saturday the 28th. I've got a couple of extra tickets.

Good Afternoon fellow Floridians...its a beautiful 80 degrees with a light breeze blowing down here on the Treasure Coast. I was wondering is anyone else following the trial of Casy Anthony that just started?.. I know it is a national broadcast, but i was wondering how people closer to home felt about it.
I am back at work-sorta-10-15 hrs a week at an hrly salary since the dr put me on a 10lb weight restriction, but luckily Workers Comp is still gonna pay me a % of my salary so im not as upset about it. Plus we get to go to the Bahamas after all. The kids are all excited about that. hope everyones week is going good so far! |

Hey Scoot: I try to NOT watch things like this. It hits my heart.....that poor child is dead...SOMEONE somewhere knows what happened to little Caylee.. I am just sick to death of all the sensationalism and media attention she garners. Let Caylee R.I.P. is my sentiments. I am glad your work is working out...not sure what happened to you...but good luck with it..and that is great WC is paying a % of wages to you!!! Times are tough all over for folks. The Bahamas...wow I have never been there but would love to some day...with my special someone...<wink>...have a wonderful trip, too!!! Take lots of pics!!! Have a great day yourself....Clay |

Hello Floridians,
Can anyone please explain to me why there are fluorescent spray-painted and festively decorated bikes chained to telephone poles and fences beside roads all over central Florida? They seem to be randomly scattered about and not denoting nearby bike trails or anything. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this and has any idea why. Thank you! |
In Ontario those denote locations of fatal accidents involving victims on bikes. Hoping that's not the case in Florida on any large scale.
|
Given their joyous presentations, I'd venture to say not. I had wondered that at first, too, though. As many as I've seen pop up recently, I imagine it would be all over the news that there was some sort of recent bike accident epidemic.
They are really fun looking, actually. I want to get on one and ride off into the sunset with it, lol. |
OK, glad to hear it. Oddly enough, the commemorative bikes here are quite festive and colourful too...and far too numerous. I do hope you are right and this is just some group's way of reminding folks of the pleasures of biking. It's still early in the day and I'm sure some informed Floridian will be awake soon enough to give you an answer lol. Good luck

The ones that are painted and decorated, (usually with flowers and such) are generally, as Collette said, locations of fatal bike accidents.
The ones that are painted solid orange, if there are any left, were used as a marketing ploy for a new fitness center called Orange Theory Fitness or something like that. A couple of years before the orange ones, there were some blue ones making the rounds that were basically just put there by a couple of guys to give people something else to look at other than everyday stuff and to give them a reason to smile. They would move these bikes to new locations every few days. They were down in south Florida. Then there are the eight multicolored mystery bikes. No one but the artist knows the reason for these supposedly. This colored bike phenomena has been going on since early 2000 as far as I know. I think it's a great marketing strategy personally, and quite inexpensive to boot. :) |
Thank you, Jesse! I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.
I had no idea about any of this. How interesting! Now I'm going to have to look more closely at them in my travels to see exactly how many of each type there are around, but I have seen quite a few on my commute to work and around my apartment complex. One of them is multi-colored with Hawaiian-style garlands all over it. I'm not sure how to categorize that one, but I will observe it more carefully next time. |
