Getting a late evening phone call from my best friend in PA, laughing with her, plus learning that she will be ok during the State Budget Impasse. |
my daughter stopped over and changed the lightbulb in my overhead light in the hallway. I have 10 foot tall ceilings and I cant do it...how sweet of her to do it for me...

what made me smile...
my little girls are growing up to be beautiful young ladies. It tickled me and made me worry a bit when I got the following email from my 12 year old niece: i was shaving my legs last night and i pushed to hard and i got a big cut on one leg then one the other leg i got a bruse from getting hit with the softball both at the very bottom and [her sister] dosnt use email she just watches tv lol (at least I could make sense of that email... it's ALWAYS a run on, never take a breath, tell me 4 stories in one jump...) |
good news and happiness heard in voices.

i have enjoyed the last 2 days off from work.....i layed around and watched the top chef marathon on bravo all day. it made me smile all day.

I am having an extremely difficult time emotionally right now, but knowing that I have some of the best friends a guy could ask for has made me smile today! :) Thanks to each and every one of you for being there for me, you know who you are!

Watching rabbits this morning. I had maybe a dozen or so just eating away out in my backyard. They were so happy, and at peace. No snakes, owls, or predators ready to jump them. |

I can't seem to shake the blues...
but I enjoyed making a special trip to the farmer's market for a friend. |
While in between doing a bit of downhill skiing in the middle of a fluffy snow, I was frying up onion rings in a cast iron skillet on a Coleman propane stove outside.
My 2 year old, who looked so cute with her blonde curls and pink lambchop jacket, was being looked after in the lodge and was mesmerized by cartoons and doing fine. Suddenly, my cat, Leonard tried to remove an onion ring from the skillet with his paw and began leaping in circles in agony. All the fur had been deep fried off his paw and muscle and bone were exposed. My mom and aunt, who were standing on the slope, began screaming. Then, I woke up and realized it was all a dream and smiled. (Deep fried paws and 2 year olds..uffda.) . |

Throwing the stuffed toy for the dog, who chased after it as it landed just around the corner, out of my sight. Rather than bringing it back, she became engaged in a tug of war with something around the corner. Knowing the other dog was sitting with me, I walked over to see who had the other end.

witnessing my daughter hold a two month old...she hadnt a clue what to do with him and looked as natural holding him as breasts on Dolly Parton. But...it put a wonderful picture in my head of the day when she will bring home a baby like that and need me to help her get comfortable...

This actually made me howl with laughter...
I discovered this evening that there is nothing more funny than seeing a housecat "stalk" a deer...
I have no idea what she thought she would do with it if she caught it...lol Even funnier was the "snort" of disgust from the deer who never moved an inch when she sprang at it, just kept right on munching berries...lol Mao Kitty finally gave up and went in chase of lightning bugs... I love my kitty... :D |
