What brought me joy today...
Laughing over pictures from a GREAT weekend filled with good times with friends, cold beer, Sunday drives to the beach, and just enjoying every minute of this crazy beautiful life. Paying for our registration for the Reunion! WOOHOOO Little Rock here we come! |

Working outside and feeling the sun on my skin.

Watching my small hometown come together and support the family of a fallen soldier. The Westboro Baptist Church was slated to protest it, but did not, to my knowledge. Folks lined the streets for well over 5 miles from the church to the burial site. It was incredible to see.

What brought me joy yesterday...
Going to the Lake with Mom and watching very beautiful Indigo Blue Buntings, Blue Birds, Nut Hatches, and several other wonderful, sweet birdies that make me thrilled to see them make a come-back to the area. Not so long ago, the Blue Bird was rarely ever seen around here. There's only one place where we get to see these Indigo Blue Buntings and it's at the Lake near Mom's. They were so sweet to watch them build their nests. So colorful!! I love to go bird watching with Mom because the joy it brings her... and love to see her get tickled when the Blue Birds sit on her fence where she can watch them all day. It's small things like this that bring me joy. |

Emptying my moms 35 gallon aquarium,cause she has arthritis and can't, just so I could refill it with fresh water for her 5 tiny goldfish....whew!! All the work was worth it, just to hear her say thank you over and over again.

a scintillating conversation with 4 year-old twins about what job they are going to get to earn money to replace the toys they threw in the mud. So funny.

What brought me joy today...
After all the nasty rain for the last few days, the sun is shining bright. Everything looks so fresh & clean. It's our anniversary ~ it's hard to believe it's already been 2 years & 4 months. YES, I'm still counting months 'cause I'm sappy like that. I've got lunch plans with my momma today. I'm breaking the diet & eating pizza, 'cause that's what she wants!! **yeah, and I want it, too** |

What brought me joy today....
My end of year evaluation at work! I sit down in the principals office and before she even hands me the evaluation to read she says, "You do know your the best thing since butter on bread? Right?" How do you respond to that? I was glowing instantly. My evaluation was amazing. It reads like the best letter of recommendation anyone could ask for. "Best para-educator I have ever worked with..." "I would take 10 of her..." "If she isn't rehired next school year we will be loosing a valuable resource" Its got me on the most wonderful high at the moment. |

On the heels of my post about how the town I live in came out as a local soldier was laid to rest ...
TODAY, a National Guard unit from here returned home after a year in Iraq. It was a moving thing. One of my high school friend's dad is in the unit, so it was good to see him back safe. |
Monthly dinner date with the Gin and Tonic Club...my two 80-something year-old (gay) friends.
All of a sudden, a DVD of this guy was being played: ...not sure about you all, but (virtual) pipe organ music makes me nervous. |
I just found out that the American Idol Tour is coming to My hometown in September ........... now, if only I can ever afford the tickets I'll be damned if I'll miss seeing Crystal in person :D

What brought me joy today...
Getting off work yesterday, changing into my bathing suit, pouring a glass of wine ~ and relaxing on my float in the pool. Talking on the phone for 2 1/2 hours last night with my best friend from High School, that I haven't seen or talked to in about 15 years. We are already making plans to get together one night next week. Waking up to the sounds of birds chirpping and the early morning sunshine peeking through my curtains. A yummy blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese... just the way I like it. |
