I made some white beans that I had been soaking for a day. I started them in the crockpot but it is not working properly. I took out the pot insert and put it in the oven. They just got done and Ms gave them the thumbs up.

Just had a nice big smile on my face, won't reveal why just yet but we'll see if it continues :)

I took Peppa with me to pick up her Daddy from work... She decided she didn't want to get back into the car and proceeded to "check out" the yard instead.
That dog has a beagle snout that's for sure. |
Had a lovely Skype convo with my kids today. They live in Australia, are currently working in South Africa and are off on a holiday to Mozambique. Oh to be that young and adventurous again!

I had a webinar and teleseminar conference this morning at 8am. As I clicked on the "brew" button for my coffee pot, I smiled. When I cranked up the heat to 80, I smiled again. I'm still smiling. :)

Developing new friendships.

What made me smile...
the best cup of coffee! My honey buying my favorite Dunkin Donuts coffee for my Keurig and then finding their creamer at the store last night, too! |
First patient of the morning was a Rottweiler puppy named "Banjo" who peed on my foot and threw up on my shirt. (Have I mentioned that I love scrubs?) His human mom was anxious that I'd be upset until I joked that we'd bill her extra for the bodily fluids if she insisted. Her response? "Bodily fluids are extra here too?" Laughed until I almost fell over. Almost asked what she's been paying for them elsewhere. Might have to raise our rates!

Smiling...
I was wrapping a birthday present and as I was digging my way to the bottom of the wrapping paper drawer, I found a treasure! Laying on the bottom, all flat, with not a single crease...a work of art. A very beautiful finger painting. It had a date of 1996. My sweet niece/God daughter painted this Christmas Day for me. She was 4. Today, she is a beautiful young woman, working on her Masters at age 21. I took a picture and posted it on the book of face, sharing with her and her mother. The happy comments flew back and forth. Again, the amazement of bringing people together. Social media. As I ran my fingers over the lumps and bumps of dried paint, it took me back. The sweet happy tears run again. |
I have the first smile today??
My youngest daughter... :)
Her very good childhood friend moved away 10 years ago and has recently returned...she was like my 3rd daughter and we are ALL rejoicing!!...so...my Lizzie bug says to me.... "mom...I want to plan a "girl's night out" for Rachael...to welcome her back..." Turns out my baby's idea of a girl's night out is backpacking up the mountain....and sleeping around the campfire.... :) I feel like I did something right.... |
Baby buck
A family of deer friends use my property for their daily walk-about. Males at a certain age become unwelcomed by the deer matriarchy and are gently and sometimes not so gently asked to stay away. The one and only buck (who in the cold, clasp grip of winter) appears more like a burro sans the points has been hanging out underneath the apple trees. These apple trees which gave the deer so much food all the way up until just last week!
With the apples gone, he has been quite brave coming closer and closer to the front glass door. He seems to be asking "Where are the apples?" This morning, he was on the porch looking in at me.... (can you say awwww) I broke down and went to the store and bought 3 bags of apples, cut them in half and placed them under the trees. Have yet to see him or the lady deer yet but they cruise through at dusk. Looking outside and seeing a deer at the front door, well....that was really something! Our animal friends.....are to be cherished.:) ps. I understand that making a 'wild' animal tame is not in its best interest. We have had such a harsh winter this year, these apples will help keep them healthy. |
Watching the movie Concussion made me smile in places.
|
one voice mail and phone calls that followed!
The most exciting voice mail received was of all cancer cells were removed and no additional surgeries required :)
The phone calls to and from some very important family and friends to celebrate the end of that chapter! Not to mention my extended family and friends here at B-F that have been supportive with their kindness and encouragement!! Life is a song - sing it. Life is a game - play it. Life is a challenge - meet it. Life is a dream - realize it. Life is a sacrifice - offer it. Life is love - enjoy it. Thank you :) Ks- |

A sweet dream I had last night. Too bad I had to wake up.

Talking with my girl (f)
My son, my girl (f) and I placing different types of "bets" on the Super Bowl. Since I do not like watching sporting events on tv, I figured if my son was going to watch it then I might as well make it interesting lol then I don't mind watching. I like the competition we have. (and yes we will be having our snacks and good sports food) |
Four guys out there trying to push a car out of the snow and ice. I walked over with a handful of sand... VOILA !!!

An awesome dinner ....with my DESSERT FIRST favorite ice cream...
a gorgeous sunny warm day....I was able to let my happy chickens free range ... How happy my pup was when Blade said he could ride to town to get ice cream... how happy my other pup was when she helped me round up the chickens, with her happy tail and gentle nature, herding them towards the pen with her funny little bounce... my long time friend (known them since 2nd grade) got a new, better job that he's been hoping for... I found 2 great movies at red box.... it's been a beautiful day! |
A
Seahawks Broncos cake for breakfast :mohawk: |
The cleaners usually put the dog's toys back in their toy box. After they left today, I let the dogs back in, and Rosie immediately ran to her toy box and began dragging out her toys.
|
Waking up to him every.single.morning. :)
|
A good day...it didn't start out good with my joints hurting so bad but by noon it was good and it's ending good ....
|
Watching Skippy Dippy get soooooo happy when he greeted Blade when he got home. That was one very happy puppy.
Other things that made me smile ... finding a mocking bird and blue birds... hearing several Killdeer somewhere out in the field ... thinking fishing weather is near... the guinea babies were happy with the warm sunshine ... squirrels were being lazy, basking in the afternoon sun instead of scurrying fast to hoard food.. I thought to myself ...with all these signs of spring, that dang groundhog was wrong |
Styling my hair this morning made me smile!!
I got it highlighted and trimmed last night and it looks amazing!!! |
