Can i pay the water bill now before i take my long hot shower..??..

I know your pain. We've got a bad drought going here. I have to water to keep it from dying altogether. Yesterday I put the sprinkler out on the front lawn and stood watching out the window as our money trickled over the curb and down the gutter to the storm sewer. After about 5 minutes I sighed and got on the computer.

Shortly after that Andi called me from the dining room, "Honey would you come here a minute?" I got up and padded in there to find her looking out of that same window. "Look", she said as I walked up. She slid her arm around my waist and put her head on my chest.

I looked out the window to see about 15 assorted birds, the 2 neighborhood ducks, 5-6 squirrels, and the rabbit that has a nest under the bush on the side of the house running through, drinking, or just standing around in the sprinkler. I didn't feel so much like it was a waste of money after that.

Can you find something that you can live with off of Craigslist? I'm determined to avoid car payments forever now if I can get away with it. I bought the convertible with cash last year. I like not having to deal with it.

Hey Wolf..

That is a great story..I love that..
Money was not waisted after all..
Sometimes when i am out digging up the ground to plant flowers a robin always stops by walking in the freshly dug dirt looking for worms..When i find one i toss it her direction and she picks it up and takes off..A few minutes later she comes back..Looking in the dirt for another worm..I find another one and toss to her..Again she takes it..When she comes back for about the 4th time she stands there looking at me and not looking for herself..Waiting for me to toss her another worm..She gets kinda close and i think she would have taken it out of my hand if i handed it to her..That made me smile doing that for her..Kinda took the burden off her of "whats for dinner" and now i gotta go look for it..

That would be ideal ! I am trying to sell mine currently on craigslist, pay off the loan and have a little extra to get something that is paid. I used to be about upgrading and getting newer every few years but getting older I'm more conservative with my money and want to just get something paid off already that is reliable.

I hear ya. I'm more about spending money on other things now like vacations or just saving it for a rainy day. I haven't had a car payment in 15 years I'm not about to start that mess again. My neighbor just bought a brand new 2012 Porsche Cayenne. My first thought was "Are you out of your mind?"

That's awesome. Some of my favorite memories are in private moments like that you know? Just you and nature.

I've been thinking lately if you care about someone so much in the first week of getting to know them and you allow them to turn your world upside down, then maybe there's something seriously wrong on your end.

Sucks to be told (and on a text message no less) that because "you have short hair I can't date you." Really??? I understand we are all attracted to a certain look...but to not even give the person a chance??? Rude! ....sigh....

This has been an amazing weekend though far too short and it seemed to pass at the speed of light...

When we got home Friday night there was a pair of Barred Owls carrying on a conversation...it was the first we'd heard them here on OUR Island and the first i'd heard since moving last summer...

On my way across the first bridge Friday i saw a pod of about 5 or 6 dolphins frolicking in the Intercoastal Waterway around some kayakers...i had to stop and watch those amazing creatures (the dolphins not the kayakers...lol) and managed to get a couple of pics too!

Also on Friday Clay & i had the most delicious "slunch" (think brunch but supper/lunch) at a favorite Mexican restaurant then off to the beach for a bit of shell collecting...we got out of there just as the tide crept in from behind wonder if the other vehicles on the beach were as fortunate...

Yesterday was an "us" day with a new adventure and a trip on the high seas aboard a lobster boat...

Just so wonderful...why does it have to end...i'm homesick and haven't left OUR Island yet...
