OK, hands-down this has to be one of my very favorite meals yet!
Katy made a pot of homemade grits (butter, cream, the whole nine yards) then simmered mixed seafood with fresh lemon and a pinch of cayenne pepper and threw in steamed kale and cheddar cheese at the end. I could have eaten fifteen bowls! |
Dinner tonight was Texas Roadhouse. A 24 oz porterhouse t-bone steak cooked medium, a loaded baked potato, and green beans with some strawberry non-alcohol cooler drink. Needless to say half of it came back to the dorm with me. I will finish it tomorrow instead of the on-campus turkey dinner. I cannot do turkey and be expected to stay awake in the afternoon. LOL! Long day tomorrow so I need to not have turkey!! LOL!

Tonight's dinner (yes I'm already thinking about.. I'm a foodie lol)
Bed of romaine lettuce, grilled chicken (warm), dried fruit medley, walnuts, chopped golden delicious apple, and blue cheese crumbles... maybe a few slices of strawberry... not sure yet. (no liquid dressing for me, I'm in love with the crumbles and they suffice) and of course dessert will be the ever present fruit salad that I've grown addicted to. lol |
Tossed salad with home grown cucumber and tomatoes, garlic chicken and pasta, garlic bread with a good Riesling.

Oven baked bbq chicken with homemade bbq sauce, baked yams and caramelized onions, artichokes fresh from a friend's garden. And I might make an apple/raspberry pie for dessert.
Roomies are supposed to help eat all this, it's a lot of food. |

I really want something sweet, some chocolate (cookies ice cream cake candy whatever) but I am being a good girl, and besides, I would have to go to the store to get it. :eatinghersheybar: plus I would be up all night with heartburn. |

For supper tonight and since it has been more like fall around here rather than a late spring or summer night, I made this vegetable medley - don't know to call it really.
I seared sliced russet potatos, baby carrots, sweet onion, gala apples, broccoli, fresh ginger, roasted cloves of garlic and sweet red peppers in a base of Coconut oil and seasoned with a dash of sea salt, cinnamon and cracked pepper-corns. I also toasted some bread to go with it (a loaf of oat bran sour dough covered in rolled oats). *it's very yummy* :) |
the other night we had Sweet Tomatoes salad, soup, baked potato, cheese bread. fresh, warm cherry apple cobbler and ice cream for dessert.
last night was a Checkers bacon cheese burger with BBq sauce on toast, shared fries, a coke. tonight deciding if I want to eat dinner. I'm currently eating cherries and ate chips with salsa and rice earlier in the day so probably not. lol |
Had amazing meal at Cotton tonight.
Seared pork belly on a bed of roasted turnips, and greens, with a green tomato chow chow on top. Cornbread to go with it. |
