Today my work took me to the coast and standing there in the marsh with the sun on my face and the wind in my hair always makes me smile :).

I finished the last of 13 final exams!!! whew. And my grades got emailed back. I got 92% in clinic, so incredibly pleased with that.
8 courses and clinic. holy shit that was fucking grueling. It did bring my GPA down from a 4.0 to a 3.33, but next term is half as many courses and twice as much clinic, so I know I can drive it back up again. I'm so nervous on the Oral-practicals... :( it always costs me marks. I have sweat dripping down my neck and back of my legs I'm so nervous. I gotta try to get over that or I'm going to fry during my medical board exams. |

What are you studying, hb?

Massage therapy. it's even more gruelling than I imagined. I was warned though! At west coast college the attrition rate is very, very high. 30% failure rate per term. at VCC we lose about three people per term because the instructors bust their asses to help us. and the higher terms will *always* tutor the lower terms when asked. we started with 29. we now have 20. I think that will slow down to 1 per term from here on in. so I should graduate in a class of 15. I do get scared I'm going to be one of the ones that doesn't make it though.

Heart Warming Nature Crap
So, okay. First day of serious weed whacking and vine trimming. My rig of choice for vining is my Echo, got her out and revved her up. Trimmed about 5 feet or so, then this ginormous praying mantis jauntily walks out to greet me. She had that "I dare you to continue" face on.
Needless to say, she won. Because of her, had to use my electric trimmer that takes me 45 days to get the job done instead of the usual 45 minutes. Grrrrr. (growling in a happy way) http://parlorofhorror.files.wordpres...pg?w=398&h=309 |

Sitting here looking out the window watching the hummingbirds at the hummingbird feeder and then I saw a Painted Bunting (brightly colored song bird) at the other bird feeder.
I rarely see Painted Bunting's at my feeder so I always get excited when one stops by for a snack. :) |

Workin on my mate's rotator cuff group. And making a whack of progress in an hour. And watching her sit up, all wobbly from an intense endorphin kick.
That always makes me grin. Down to my bones. Applying my learning makes me super happy. I do love this career choice. she said, after sitting up "omg. Intense. I feel like I should send you a 'thanks for the sex'" text tomorrow... " Hahahahaha |
In Montreal last year. Old Masters Twenty feet above the sidewalk, white chairs are attached to the walls of buildings in the Latin Quarter, with ten senior citizens sitting on them. One is knitting, another folds laundry and a third is eating. All of them appear to be floating above everyday concerns, their strange position adding an enchanting note to the cityscape. Old age becomes urban poetry, insisting that we stop and take a look. Affixed to the façades of buildings on St. Denis Street, they are an evocative display of passing time, blurring distinctions so that life becomes art. Some might walk by without noticing them, but others will raise their heads and stop to gaze at this surprising image of mature angels adding a touch of grace to the urban space. An undisciplined and interdisciplinary German artist who specializes in site-specific interventions, Angie Hiesl concocted this “human exhibit” so that we might view elderly people as works of art. After winning over audiences in Europe and South America, her group will make its North American début with this beautifully disconcerting performance installation. http://www.fta.qc.ca/en/shows/2012/x-fois-gens-chaise |
I havent smiled in two days, but atleast i know that i have friends who will pick me up after having my heart broken
|
Kobi,
Your post made me smile today! I wish I could've repped it 50x. I love this concept and I admire the very brave senior citizens who had the nerve to sit up in those chairs! :shocking: Quote:

For me, it would have to be talking with my buds and family. It would also be that I met a really nice and cute girl today.

An unexpected phone call. Totally made my week!

my bff growing up...she posted on my FB timeline...about how you never forget the kids you grew up with....
I responded by telling her about my recent bike ride down my childhood street (one over from hers) and told her I felt 10 again....and almost expected to look back and see her....with her red braids and all.... :) |
being off from work tonight

Getting two days off after today. Almost makes time go by faster knowing I'm so close to a mini break from work.

Making someone else blush and smile made me smile today...

I am finally selling my house. Yay!!

Smiling. .
It was the best smile in such a long time. It was more of a different smile, the kind you give someone else. I found the angel in myself and did a wonderful deed. It involved a mother and her very sick baby. She said no and I said...please just take this and say thank you. And then...lets stop crying :) Oh the sweetest happy tears while at work. This smile will last a long time. ] |
Being able to laze in bed this evening with no homework and no appointments in the morning. I have to admit I wish there was someone in here with me and then to have a lazy late bruch with out on a sunny cafe deck tomorrow. But, I'm greatful for the self care too.
