I knew it was going to be a good day when I was driving into work and just happened to turn on the radio (I'm not an avid listener). There was a show on called Strange & Beautiful Music.

So naturally the most wonderful and interesting (strange and beautiful, lol?) song ever was playing and I silently willed the DJ to mention the name of the composer at the end and he did! And I googled it this morning and I snagged that song!

It is one of those really obscure pieces, too; so I never would have found it if they hadn't said it. lol, I just kept repeating the name over and over again until I got to the traffic light and wrote it down so I wouldn't forget it.

And several spelling modifications later, voila! Love Google!

Aforementioned brilliant composer has just accepted my friend request on her personal Facebook page! Now I just have to think of something cool to say, lol.

And she looks all cynical and morose in that super chic way only Eastern Europeans can pull off, lol.

Making a new friend; yayyyy! A sure sign it's gonna be another good day! :)

yesterday......
 

driving home from my employers house yesterday evening.....when suddenly....two moose walked right out into the road. It was a cow and her yearling....something Ive only seen from a distance (and in tracks).
The size of these animals is just amazing...its like watching a small building walk across the road...it was a happy miracle that was a much needed reprieve from an otherwise awful week... almost like an apology from the universe :)

today....
 

I was early getting to work....so I stopped at a spot that has had my attention for months now... Ive been thinking over the winter how much Id like to hike there...so...I stopped today to take a peek...and was sooo happy to find its actually a gorge...with a currently ragin stream/river going through it....
I see a fishing pole in my near future... :as well as a nice long hike on an early day at work...

Calling my mom, and hearing her say, "hello son!"

The complete and loving support from my family and friends, Mum calls me son daily and my little brother is desperate to call me by my new name, he's just never had the chance yet.
Finding unexpected support on Fb, and from my neighbours. All in all, I have every reason to be happy and stay happy. I'm a lucky bloke!

Hearing from an old friend today. As usual, her timing and words are perfect!

my weekend employer did....

she just called....and let me know her husband was away for the weekend and if I wanted to bunk at her house (and save myself a 6am wakeup and an hour drive) it would be just fine with her.
Ive stayed over for the weather before....they are all such lovely people and Im tickled because I get to sleep in her grand daughters purple butterfly room :)
oh...and sleep later!

Being in the right place at the right time!

As I was getting ready for class this morning, there was frantic knocking at my front door. I have an elderly neighbor lady that lives across the street with one of her adult sons, who is rather developmentally challenged... to the point where he can't really operate a telephone. We rarely talk...okay, it's more like we never talk but for the occasional smile and nod. I also seriously doubt they know I'm a medic. However, this morning I'm glad the son was comfortable coming across the street for help. Turns out his mother, who's a diabetic, fell and lost consciousness. She came around pretty quickly, but was having other difficulties with her breathing, pain etc. I suspect a broken rib as well. But it was exceptional helping out so close to home and help calm him down, as well as provide some basic aid while calling for an ambulance. I think I'm gonna chalk Friday up as a WIN!

What made me smile today...
 

Going for a beer and pool with my new co worker at a chillaxin pub on the river. Seeing one of my best bud's there was well. I am a lucky dawg!

They overturned the ban on Gay marriage in Arkansas today. :)

Receiving a dozen roses from my son for Mother's Day. :)

Getting most of my stuff unpacked, pictures hung and everything clean! Yay. My place is almost livable!!

Spending time with my 13 yo nephew...ok, I was tickling him but it was great to see him smile and hear him laugh.

my employer called me not long after she left....

she saw a moose in roughly the same place I did....she called and said "I wanted you to know I saw your moose!"

I told her to wave and say hi...surely the moose remembers me since I was dangling out the window of my car trying to get a good picture of her.... ;)
