Happy Sunday and Happy 1st Day of May!!!!!!! Pouring rain here but that's ok because I don't have to go to work. It will be a slow and easy Sunday for us. Have a friend coming over around lunchtime that we have not seen in months, so it will b good to catch up with her. Hope everyone enjoys the week ahead! :hangloose:

I slept in some this morning. When I woke up, I took Ernie for a walk before feeding him and making myself some breakfast. A bagel sandwich with sausage and egg. Then I settled in on the couch to watch Animaniacs.

Its a gloomy morning here. Not raining, but blah outside. I need to run a couple errands and do laundry. But I figured I'll relax a little longer before I get going.

Good morning! It is supposed to reach 89° here today, seems we skipped right over Spring again this year. I am thinking I need to find someplace a little cooler to move to, just not anywhere cold. I need a happy medium!

Not much planned for today, we'll see what happens. ;)

I slept in late. The kitties and I stayed in bed for a while this morning. I watched CBS Sunday Morning News in my recliner. I am currently on the job as navigator for my son because he is on a long trip. Got him to Buckee's and Best Buy so far.

I plan to relax today with light chores.

Happy Sunday! Had a nice drive this morning and am back "on the ranch" after watching a a couple neighborhood boys play ice-blade hockey in the street. Will do some ironing, stream some tv shows or movies, and get ready for the work week ahead.

Happy Mother's Day, and Happy Sunday everyone!

I will of course be calling my mom in a little while. We usually get together, just the two of us, for Mother's Day and my birthday, but it snuck up on me this year. (I have to be the one to actually organize the date.) It is very special to me, it's the only time of year when I get my mom all to myself.

I had leftover Chinese food for breakfast, and it was a little on the greasy side so now I feel a little blah, but it was delicious. I will probably skip lunch though.

It is supposed to get up to 86 today, which will be nice after a week of winter-like temps. (Highs in the 60s all week long - very weird. I even had to dig back in my wardrobe and find a couple of sweaters. Temps were in the 40s in the mornings when I headed out to work.)

I just got some lab test results online - I have a staph infection on my big toe. :( Very, very unhappy about this. I've heard friends talk about how long it took them to get rid of it. So, hopefully when I check in with you folks next Sunday, I will still have 10 toes.

Good morning all. Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms. My mom passed in 2012. Of course I am thinking of her today. Sometimes I am surprised how much I miss my mom.

Expressing my gratitude for my mother because being an mother is not always easy, and grateful for being an mother myself because I know being an mother is incredibly challenging, comes with so much responsibility, but can be rewarding in so many ways.

My son is home this morning, of which I'm very grateful.

No it's Mother's Day, Mom's day off - no cooking, hurray!

Yesterday my son and daughter in-law to be took me to Chinese food for lunch so this morning I had left over almond chicken, sweet and sour pork and BBQ pork fried rice for breakfast.This afternoon a group that provides outreach services to people released from jails and prisons, who rents space from our church, invited us to have lunch with them. They served deli ham and cheese sandwiches on very fresh French bread, and two choices of soup one of which was the very tasty homemade chicken and rice I had. They also provided the freshest oranges I’ve had since leaving Southern California – they were even better than Halos, fruit and nut granola bars and choice of beverage.

Tonight I’m going to Old Country Buffet with my sons, their two half-brothers, their step grandma and some single mom friends of their stepmom – my ex-husband is treating all of us. We got together for Christmas and it was really nice so I’m looking forward to it. Along with the usual diner meal stuff there will probably be some seafood and/or prime rib as that’s usually what our local, family friendly buffet places offer on holidays to upgrade the menu, make it more special. I will probably have lots of prawns, lots of mushrooms, too much mashed potatoes and gravy and save room for soft serve chocolate ice cream with hot fudge, whipped cream, sprinkles and cherries for toppings.

Even though this year I’m dieting – not on Mother’s Day! Diet resumes tomorrow, meantime after buffet when my sons ask if there’s anything I need or want that they can get me before taking me home I am going to ask them to take me through a drive through to pick up a 20 oz. latte plain, no sweeteners, with an extra shot of expresso, very little ice, and unsweetened almond milk - please. I've got such patient, thoughtful sons and they just spoil me rotten they really they do. :)
