OMG!! WHAT A WILD RIDE TONIGHT DURING THAT STORM!! MY ADRENALINE RUSH IS FINALLY SETTLING DOWN!! A pecan tree ALMOST crushed my car.. missed it by inches. Power out to 3700 residents ... no AC or water pump...

There is very much positive to say about an old house built in the 40's on top a hill in an oak grove and it's survived all kinds of storms like these.

I must say I have not been this scared since I was a child in an Indiana tornado.

Scared out of my mind when I saw tree down next to my car ... then saw second storm start to hit from opposite side like we were going to get slammed again.

Now I'm exhausted and stressed that I'm working from home now but have no power to run computer tomorrow or flush toilets. Good thing for cat litter and buckets.

From those that have checked in with me, all of our NC and SC peeps have checked in okay.

The power seems to be back on..the only thing I left plugged in was a little night light that just came on... lets see how long it stays?

Yesterday i drove back through 2 very ugly storms...raining so hard that you could barely see so everyone was doing 35 - 45 mph on I-95 & I-77 where posted speed is 70 (actual speed usually around 80 - 85)...the wind was far worse...poor Barbie was blown all over the road.

The lightening was spectacular! Especially the stuff that spread across the sky...very distracting though...

Clay had a wierd feeling about my drive so i left a couple of hours later than i should...good thing too because i got to my apartment between a couple of the really bad storms that came through here...my compex had debris everywhere and the power had been off for a while...according to the news it was a wild ride and we had more of the same over night...didn't hear it cuz apparently i passed out when i hit the bed...lol

I just don't get why landlords want to half-ass everything instead of doing the job right the first time. When the pipes are dripping down behind the wall into the apartment below and the landlord comes in to do repairs and doesn't listen to you say, "the washers on the handles are not sealing so I am having to tighten down harder than need be," one would think he would replace the washers. Nope instead he patched the pipes and called it good.

Now he has to come back because they are dripping again. Why? Oh because I am still having to tighten down the handles after showers because the washers still don't seal which in turn has obviously twisted the pipes enough to cause them to drip behind the wall... AGAIN!!

I just don't get his line of reasoning :seeingstars:

Why is it every time I sit down in front of the computer I get sleepy? :tiredcomputer:

Gotta get this a/c fixed. :|

I may have to take the frogs to be boarded until I can get the a/c running again and the house cooled off.

Hopefully, they can get it fixed today........early. :twitch:

Thank Jeebuz for being able to run around half-nekkid (without a shirt). :winky:

Sorry to hear your froggies are uncomfortable.

You're not the only one running around without a shirt on. Thank Jeebuz for living so far away from neighbors when a nasty storm hits and knocks it power ... better put shirt back on before I go get ice and look for way to board doggies.

Watch out for mold.

Packing is on my mind and not the good type. So I left my self as little time as possible to pack. LOL go figure. Then I eat bad greek yogurt at snack time, putting me further behind schedule.

Now I am wickity wackity and so the General Sprout is totally picking up on it. I gotta chill. So I keep reaching for things to do and pack and I am making a bigger mess. So I am going to paint. I know it is the best choice right now.

A few things..

- The loss of my Memere on June 24th.. Travelling there to celebrate her love & life surrounded by my wonderful family for a week, who i love so dearly. She would have been smiling upon us, she always loved family get togethers. She was such a amazing spirit, kind-hearted woman and beautiful soul. And i am blessed to have had her in my life, and to have been so close to her. i miss her with everything i have in me, but i know she's not suffering anymore - she made everyone smile right to her last breaths.. Hearing the stories of her last moments, and knowing this was what she needed, to be free from the cancer... She's at peace, at last. i love you Memere, so SO much...xox

- School is coming fast, and working a plan through my work which will keep me with minimal cost and not having a huge loan to pay... Not to mention, my work giving me a 1000$ scholarship towards my loan, i feel so grateful for the love & support of all who are backing me on my decision to go back to school to take Nursing.. Everything is confirmed, and now i sit back and am getting excited, indeed but also so nervous.. 39 years old, and finally taking my life back one step at a time..BIG step to take - But planning to put everything into this and do fabulous! Because i know i CAN.

- My recovery has been difficult the last couple of weeks.. i've broken my abstinence - because this passed year i have been physically abstinent but not mentally, spiritually & emotionally. i thought i could do it on my own, without doing the hard work and without digging through the things i stuff within for years and years.. i've learned i cannot do it alone, i now have my sponsor, and am taking steps to be more honest with myself about my compulsive eating. Working on self-acceptance and not self-abusing anymore.. Working on a lot of things.. Overwhelming, but necessary. i really *am* powerless over food, i really can't do this by myself. i'm scared of the days to come, i am struggling more than i ever have.. one foot forward, one step at a time.

- my wonderful Daddy. Always by my side, no matter what, as i am with Him. i truly am so blessed, because no matter what Our days consist of, We are supportive, present and always making time for one another. He makes me feel so loved, each and everyday and lets me know just how important i am to Him. And the fact He feels i represent Him/Us so well, & loving the opportunities to know the people in His life, as We blend Our lives together. i feel so grateful to know them, and that He wants me to be a part of their life as much as His.. Our growing family, full of love & a lifetime of happiness to come.. How can i not feel like such a blessed babygirl.. Appreciating small things, embracing life's moments together, sharing smiles & always celebrating Our love together.. i love You Daddy, so much from the bottom of my heart.. thank You for always protecting me, taking care of me and loving me.. ♥

- Lastly, much love to all my friends here.. ♥

too much is rattling around in my brain.... too much

and wishing my Woo Bear's ears would heal... poor baby. He needs a shave too!! Was thinking I would get my hair cut short because of the heat.... but can you imagine Woo Bear and his sister Tash, with such thick fur! Add Vet bill and grooming to the marbles clinking around between my ears.

Just worried about a couple of things around the house, nothing major but still a pain in the keister :|

Woke up at 11:30 ... My wheel barrow came to mind. I forgot to bring it back into the locked gate backyard this afternoon. It was parked in an easy-to-take-n-go area. I retrieved it a few minutes ago. Sometimes I wonder if the the neighbors ponder just how many different loud plaid colored men's pajama bottoms I own.LOL! Heck, they probably don't even notice me.
