"Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.” Coco Chanel

“I have learned things in the dark that I could never have learned in the light, things that have saved my life over and over again, so that there is really only one logical conclusion. I need darkness as much as I need light.”
― Barbara Brown Taylor |
“Memory, when it juts, retreats, recovers, shows us how to hold the darkness, how to breathe.” ― Drew Myron

“... your heart is your soul twinkling in the black firmament inside you...”
- John Geddes |
“It is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn't matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over.”
― Paulo Coelho |
“To be nobody but yourself in a world
which is doing its best day and night to make you like everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight and never stop fighting.” ― E.E. Cummings |
“Trees are poems the earth writes upon the sky, We fell them down and turn them into paper, That we may record our emptiness.”
― Kahlil Gibran |
“You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves. Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine. Meanwhile the world goes on. Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers. Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again. Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting – over and over announcing your place in the family of things.” ― Mary Oliver |
if you love something, then really love it. If that trip, person, or afternoon opened up new worlds and mind sets, then by all means write about it or play about it, or maybe even tell someone. And tell it the way it really is, exactly how it feels. It is beautiful to feel in a body built for feeling, and exist intensely on a planet excluding intensity, because life itself is both intense and beautiful. There's absolutely no need or reason to pretend otherwise. Victoria Erickson http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thin...l&tid=55436246 |
The power of a women
I am the powerful....
I am the goddess... The vagrant of innocence.... Walking upon clouds of dreams... Out reaching for tall tree worlds..... I fall back to earth landing upon the wolf.... My brother yin is hungry...he stalks me... Relentless....for I am the goddess the bitch and female... We dance...am I free or do I face death.... The moon is high...we sleep with warmth.. Only to...balance another day... (random poet, I know) Copyrighted, all right reserved. |
Solitude.
“Nevertheless, this is where it begins. The first word appears only at a moment when nothing can be explained anymore, at some instant of experience that defies all sense. To be reduced to saying nothing. Or else, to say himself: this is what haunts me. And then to realize, almost in the same breath, that this is what he haunts.” ― Paul Auster
|
“There was this constant urge in me to tear my insides apart,
I didn't know why. By the time I made my mind that it was impossible for me to do, there alighted the fear, haunting me with the words that rang constantly in my head, "You're not brave enough". I didn't feel devastated, I felt the urge to be devastated.” ― Sanhita Baruah |
“There’s a little angel on one of my shoulders saying that this is a wicked thing to do. Then there’s a little devil on my other shoulder, and she looks a lot like you.” ― Christina Harlin

“Love is a state of Being. Your love is not outside; it is deep within you.
You can never lose it, and it cannot leave you. It is not dependent on some other body, some external form.” -Eckhart Tolle |
“A person is, among all else, a material thing, easily torn and not easily mended.” ― Ian McEwan
|
“When you love someone, truly love them, you lay your heart open to them. You give them a part of yourself that you give to no one else, and you let them inside a part of you that only they can hurt-you literally hand them the razor with a map of where to cut deepest and most painfully on your heart and soul. And when they do strike, it’s crippling-like having your heart carved out.” ― Sherrilyn Kenyon
|
“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” ― Brené Brown

When is a monster not a monster? Oh, when you love it.
~Caitlyn Siehl~ |
“Insecure people only eclipse your sun because they’re jealous of your daylight and tired of their dark, starless nights.” ― Shannon L. Alder

“The more you talk about it, rehash it, rethink it, cross analyze it, debate it, respond to it, get paranoid about it, compete with it, complain about it, immortalize it, cry over it, kick it, defame it, stalk it, gossip about it, pray over it, put it down or dissect its motives it continues to rot in your brain. It is dead. It is over. It is gone. It is done. It is time to bury it because it is smelling up your life and no one wants to be near your rotted corpse of memories and decaying attitude. Be the funeral director of your life and bury that thing!” ― Shannon L. Alder

“So you will meet many ’someones’ who will give a new definition to your name. And you can not build walls, must not close the door and please don’t hide, because if you ask me about hurt and love I will say love. Love because the hurt will come and go no matter what, but only love makes it worth while. Only love can cure it. Don’t be scared. Go. Love.”
― Charlotte Eriksson |
“The spring breeze cuts around me, tearing the last of the old leaves from the branches of the bushes. It pulls on my clothes, and I imagine that if it took them from me, the last of my papers would soar out into the world, and I know it is time for me to stop holding certain things so close.” - Ally Condie
