Just finished Cockneys vs Zombies. I thought it was funny. gory like all good zombie movies should be. I enjoyed the storyline and characters.
Also watched, this weekend. The four faced Liar. Holy crap can you put any more stereotypes in. I thought this movie was a load of crap. |
"Something Wild" (1961) on TCM. They just don't make movies like they used to.
|
Ok, not proud of this but I do appreciate low-brow humor sometimes:
Bad Grandpa. Cracked me up in parts. Yes. |

I'm planning on going to see If I Stay today. Hopefully, I can. I didn't make it the last time I planned to go. I did, however, stay up late watching re-watching a fluffy movie I enjoyed. Not mentally stimulating but super heroes are always fun and who can say no to Lynda Carter? Sky High |

"The Onion" is really probably a nick name you don't want, though. Just sayin'. Quote:

Anya's a sweet onion. Duh.
 CCB, here's my tip if you tend to get wrapped up in the emotional component of movies like I do.....bring tissues. I found it well done. The particular style of the movie is not something I'm usually a fan of (won't go into it but you'll figure it out when you see it) but I think it really, really worked in this instance. I haven't read the book so I don't know how closely they stuck to the storyline but I found it engaging even if it's a bit predictable. What I thoroughly enjoyed was the music. I'm not really a cello/classical kind of person but the music was beautiful and there's some band stuff in there too for those who don't care for strictly classical. All in all, I liked it. |
The Purge -- disturbing, but interesting and engaging

Just Watched....
Draft Day
I enjoyed it well enough give it a try :hangloose: |
Transformers.

stuck really close to da story line. what was in the book and couldn't/wouldn't have faired well on film was well translated. |

"Shrink" with Kevin Spacey
a 2009 movie about loss, grief, and learning to live again...good one. Greco |
actually its a DVD movie called Vampires Suck. Its a parody on Twilight:)
|
It's decent. Not life changing I don't believe. Im a huge lover of Indie films and they could of executed the ending a lot better. Anyhow, good for a rainy day :) |
The General (1927) is an imaginative masterpiece of dead-pan "Stone-Face" Buster Keaton comedy, generally regarded as one of the greatest of all silent comedies (and Keaton's own favorite) - and undoubtedly the best train film ever made.

Words and Pictures
Didn't really care for it all that much and I didn't see any chemistry myself
between the two lead actors~~~but if you can see it on the cheap check it out and see what you think:movieguy: |
I went to the library and got Miss Potter with Renee Zellwegger and Ewan McGregor.
It's about Beatrix Potter and her childhood and young womanhood. I admit, as much as I loved the book as a child, I never gave much thought to the author/ illustrator. As it turns out, she was a very early conservationist. She bought a number of farms to keep them from development. It was interesting for sure :) |
Railway Man..
Liked it well enough but there were parts I didn't really understand.. here's a overview in case you've never heard of it it came out earlier this year
A former British Army officer, who was tormented as a prisoner of war at a Japanese labor camp during World War II, discovers that the man responsible for much of his treatment is still alive and sets out to confront him. |
Madea's neighbors from hell
|
my daughter said this movie was really good...
|
I am Divine
Gives a glimpse into the life (especially his early years and start of his career) of Harris Glen Milstead aka Divine |
It was sweet and the kids in the audience loved it. I may or may not have as well. |
Punch Love
Did NOT care for this movie whatsoever!!! Shame cause I normally like anything with these two actors ( Pierce Brosnan, Emma Thompson) This movie went on and on and on OMG I thought it would NEVER END..save your money and rent ANYTHING but this one it was SO DUMB and STUPID!!!!! |
Quote:
This is a horrible, horrible movie. But then I realized you were talking about The Love Punch. |
Yup Punch Love don't rent it..lol
|
Edge of Tomorrow. Tom Cruise. I don't care for him personally, he's such a fuck stick. The movie was good though, different idea for a change.
|
K-Pax (2001) with Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges.
|
Kiss The Girls
|
|
Excellent special effects. My daughter and I were jumping in our seats! |
I love Documentaries. However, this one sucked. |
Chef
Didn't care for it. Thought it was miscast. Would have liked seeing Bobby Cannavale or maybe an unknown Latino actor in the lead role and Jon Favreau in a secondary role. Music was nice. |
An IFC movie on Neftflix.
The Last Days. A unique, horror (but not slasher-type), love story. It was billed as a "captivating vision of the apocalypse". Ha! Not a zombie apocalypse either... I liked it. It was in Spanish, with sub-titles. |
Kelly and Cal
Juliette Lewis, Cybill Shepherd, & Johnny Weston A punk-rocker turned suburban mom Kelly, nostalgic for the life she no longer has and uncertain of a future where she doesn't yet fit in. 17-year-old Cal (newcomer Jonny Weston), is frustrated at his lack of control over the hand he's been dealt. When the two neighbors meet, they find in each other an unlikely but much-needed connection to the world. I enjoyed it~~ check it out and see what you think~ |
I watched The Internship on the weekend. With Vince vaughn and Owen Wilson
I really enjoyed it . I thought the Wedding Crashers was was fun also. I enjoy these two guys. Im not a huge fan of either one but i think they make good sidekicks. |
