Can you bottle sunshine?
Brrrrrrrrr! Oh, baby, it's cold outside...
Y'all, it's so cold at work tonight, I swear, if I had hot chocolate right now, I wouldn't sip it. I'd dip my fingers in it. *laughs* I'm having a hella rough time lining up another job -- this one has about 6 months left and then I'll be laid off. I keep seeing work possibilities in my field in the Washington/Oregon area so I find myself daydreaming about ferry boats. (Too much Grays Anatomy, I guess. LOL)... But realistically, if I don't like Florida winters... what am I thinking?! ... Any northern transplants in the Sunshine state? Think I'd suffer extreme culture shock if I had to make the move? |
17 days until I'm an official Floridian! Yay!! :)
So looking forward to the sunshine and warmth! This 20 degree highs and 4 inches of snow just is no longer my cup of cocoa! |

I'm a transplant from upstate NY down to south Florida....and there's definitely a world of difference. It would be less traumatic going to the Oregon/Washington area....but still darn cold compared to what you're used to. I lived in Seattle oh-so-long-ago and it's more rain than snow....beautiful spring, summer and fall....and you need a good coat for winter. Upstate NY? Run away, just run away. Fifteen feet of snow in a winter is just too much for me. |
Good Morning Sassy,
When I moved to Flint, Michigan at 15 years old, I loved it. After three years of living between Flint and Ann Arbor, Michigan and Pittsburgh, PA; I would probably do it again. My hands and feet use to get cold first and then the rest of my body. To this day, I still wear socks on my feet in the winter time and I make sure to have a few pairs of gloves. I was born and raised in Daytona Beach and it used to get so cold on the coast from the sea air mixed in with the cold... :tea: Here is some hot cocoa for you! I agree with Jo. Seattle is gorgeous and Boston, is cold but beautiful! Zimmeh |
I lived in CO for the past 17 years and I'm used to snow, so I must say ..
I'm loving this weather!! The job situation may be turning around in FL? Maybe there is a budget allowance with the new year coming up. I hope so! I know I'm looking into 5 different job opportunities right now and hopefully one of em pans out. |

But have you survived a full summer here yet? 105 degree heat, 100 percent humidity? LOL... |
Wishing all the Floridians Happy Holidays and I hope we can all meet up sometime after the new year!!!!!!!
|
I,for one,LOVE the summers here in south florida....as long as im moving around the heat doesnt bother me...I went back home to Ky for Thanksgiving and the low 60's during the day warranted jeans for me...I vaguely remember when the low 50's would have me pulling out my shorts! lol
|
yeah I haven't been here for a full summer yet! LOL I think I will love it. . I got here in Sept. . and I was sweating. hehe. Hey, there's always the beach and pool and I love the water!
Yeah, we are looking at a get together right after the new year I think? |
Can we do it before I get my braces?
