The sunrises lately have been spectacular.

It stayed close to 60 all night long..

Flowers and leaves everywhere...

Pictures my youngest sent of her on the beach in Florida..I think she's becoming a beach bum and WON'T be returning to New England...

How happy Jacques is to see me when I get home from work...or anywhere for that matter...

As ever...the mountains...they hug me every day...

Teasing my daughter while we were grocery shopping.

willow 03-18-2015 08:58 AM

I happened to be walking past a woman taking her daughter to school, this morning. Mum seemed a little flustered and was hurrying the girl along. The girl had stopped to look at a flower peeking through a gap in the fence. She cradled the flower very gently and turned the flower to face her. The mother didn't notice the girl smiling. But I noticed, and it made me smile too.

Blade's family makes BEAUTIFUL babies!! My heart melted at seeing a picture of their new, sweet little human.
And I smiled at Blade's pride and happiness. He LOVES and swoons over babies!! My roomie is a big sap and it's awesome to see him smile so much.

What made me smile today was finally installing my new 500GB SSD and loading it with Win 7 Home Premium and updating all drivers and getting things squared away with it. Finally!! It runs like a top now. Zip Zip Zoom! :glasses:

My morning client...she always tells me what great work I do...today she told me she hopes I will always work for her...

And...

And interesting offer....

And...

The birds singing this morning...as if on cue...its goes from silent to singing...its beautiful to wake up to that and a nearly crimson sky...I'm so lucky to live amongst such beauty...

Finalizing everything to make sure I scored Motley Crue tickets for an early birthday present!

They will be here at the house tomorrow!

Dances a jig around the room!

I have a hard time finding anything that is not worth a smile lately. My Mom brought over an extra TV for me while I was at work (this I knew she was going to do). I walked in to find a bag on the couch where she had bought me a couple of shirts for work while she was out shopping (this I already knew about, too). But what I did not know about - was she left a handmade throw that my late Grandmother had made and left to my Mom. I stood at the door - door wide open - and cried. Cried like I have not cried in a long time.

Then I smiled at all the memories it brought back.

Oh, and then there is that laugh and nerd driven conversations that happen daily. May can not get here soon enough.

Happy Birthday! Motley Crue is coming to your house? :sunglass:

I was smiling until I found out that we're getting over 2" of snow tomorrow...and it's below freezing out. :cold:

Cailin 03-19-2015 09:23 AM

being brought my large 4 cup pyrex glass measuring bowl, and being asked "how do I made 2/3?"

then replying, you get the 1/3 measuring cup, and fill it up twice

the confused look on their face was definitely camera worthy.

Hearing about the fondness an old friend expressed for me when she saw my photo.

I think sometimes we don't realise the number of people that we've touched in those moments when our paths have crossed, however brief that may have been.

Meeting a fellow pumpkin who I've only spoken with on the phone thus far.

Having an 8yr old in my house is weird but smileworthy.

It's going to be a fabulous convention!

I'm attending a wedding tomorrow (supposedly the 2nd day of Spring!), in dress and heels, and will probably freeze my butt off.

Once a month I get a short day at work - only 2.5 hrs - and today, is that day. Happy.

Degotoga 03-20-2015 01:52 PM

Just shy of a month ago I rescued a 5-ish month old pup that got dumped out on a county road. After making every effort (scanned for a chip, flyers put up, etc...) to make sure she didn't run away from a home that really missed her, I decided to keep her. Since then we've been going for walks/runs on the days I'm home. This morning I got up early and trimmed hedges, knowing that flash flooding is expected today thru tomorrow night, and also knowing any form of outdoor exercise won't happen for obvious reasons, coupled with the knowledge that I always get called into work for swift water rescue when Mother Nature has a tantrum of this proportion. Anyway, I got done with the hedges, cleaned up and put everything away and decided fur face and I better get our exercise in while we had a chance. Needless to say, we made it a mile before it started raining so we stepped up our jog the rest of the way home, with dingbat the dog biting at raindrops the whole way. It pretty much goes without saying that we were soaked by the time we got home. Luckily, I had laid towels by the door before we left, just in case. Once we made it to the shelter of the front porch, I opened the front door, grabbed a towel, dried my head and face so I could see, then grabbed the mighty raindrop slayer's towel. She got all excited when she saw her towel and acted like she didn't have a lick of sense while I was drying her off. Despite getting caught in a downpour (and not being able to see much else but her because she was right next to me), I couldn't help but smile at her playfulness on our run home, then her excitement about towel time seriously upped the smile factor. Some days I could cheerfully pinch her head off, but days like today make me realize we're perfect for each other.

An unexpected lunch date

CherryWine 03-20-2015 02:35 PM

I was on a webinar with my boss earlier when I saw a spider run across my laptop keyboard. Using a tissue, I tried to squish the spider. When I picked it up, the spider ran out of the tissue onto my hand causing me to scream and throw the tissue across the table. Well, when my boss called in he forgot to put the phone on mute because the moderator asked, "Does someone have a question?" My boss said, "No, we just have a spider."

He and I both got a good laugh out of it. Not a good week for me and insects!

There are roads here that cut thru the marshes. Astronomical high tides leads the roads to flood at high tide.

Today, I had to stop at the flooded part of the roadway because there was a group of ducks floating in the middle of what should have been the road.
